The sound brings back memories, the FX80 was my first printer. I used to manufacture centronics interfaces back in the 80's for commodore pets, C64, Apple etc. Not the one you are using.

The one for the Apple was a plug-in card, I don't know where you would find one now

Nice to see an old printer running .that sound the nostalgia lol ... ive a few printers never bothered with them. Mite have to dig one out now ..

Some people find it really grating, but to me it's an iconic sound of the 80s!

Both Programming the PET/CBM (original Level Ltd. edition) and Programming the C64. Had them from new :)

I had a Card?! Hooked up to a Star printer. not perfect for the system but it did work for the most part.

With some dot matrix printers, your mileage could really vary with how well they worked on a particular computer.
