Amazing attention to detail! keep up with these detailed videos please!!! Is there a way to download your sample print design? I have never thought on adding all these elements besides color range LOL It is brilliant!
I absolutely cannot stand most Gildan products. The heavy material and the low-quality threading/sewing. Every Gildan product that I've purchased for myself or as a gift (t-shirts, hoodies) has had the stitching come out after only a couple of weeks, minimal wear, and gentle washing. If a customer is going to spend $25-$30 on a t-shirt, I want to give them the highest quality, softest, most durable t-shirt with excellent print quality. Most of my customers actually prefer Bella + Canvas 3001 and B + C 3413. The 3413 is thin, soft, and the white can be a bit see-through. Most customers I've chatted with prefer thinner, lighter t-shirts than the medium or heavy weight shirts. What I found to be most interesting though, is how popular the V-neck t-shirts are. There is a huge consumer demand for them, yet finding a store that sells them is rare. I've been adding more to my store and seems to do well.
I own a Print-on-Demand t-shirt company and I decided to use Monster Digital for my t-shirt fulfillment. After doing a test-purchase of one of my own designs via Monster Digital, I found the design came out alright. However, the cloth quality was extremely thin and flimsy (this was the Bella 3000) and not something I would ever purchase myself. Also, I tried contacting Monster Digital three times; once by web form, another by email, and lastly by phone. I left my contact information all three times, which they ask for btw, saying they will get back to you. They never did. I will not be using or recommending Monster Digital again in the future.
2:57 might be a misunderstanding as you put a sample order that shipped to yourself, not a customer. I'm sure customers won't receive a parcel with printify's logo or wholesale shipping list
Later in the video I showed that I contacted Printify about this and they confirmed that it shouldn't of happened and they were going to contact MD to get it fixed. As far as I'm aware, they've been shipping out parcels with the from address being "Printify TSC". Hopefully they've fixed this by now.
With all black print shirts, wash them inside out, low temp and that "thick plastic" texture reduces after a wash or two. Not as good as white, but not bad either. Not sure why you skipped this- considering the analysis for everything else.
I take it you didn't get to the part where I washed them? 8:38 They were washed inside out on a cold (30c) wash. The shirt in the video has been washed 6 times now, the rubber feeling I described in the video has not faded. With DTG printing the dark fabrics require a white base layer, this adds weight and texture to the final print and is not something that washes out.
Hi! Samples from The Dream Junction are on order! But I'll be sticking with the Bella Canvas 3001 for now, just to keep all the reviews fair and consistent.
That would be a good explanation. Unfortunately (well fortunately) all the other print providers either use my company name or use "Fulfilment centre" or something to that effect.
With the white print on black, I was recommended by another POD designer that it's a good idea to double up the design - so upload it twice onto the printing space, if that makes sense. I think that has helped some of my shirts, but I need to do more research. Have you tried this? (Though I learned my lesson the hard way to double and triple check that your cat didn't step across the keyboard right as you submit a design leaving the duplicate completely unaligned!!!!)
Yes, the update is in the video. But Printify admitted that it was a mistake and that it shouldn't happen going forward. I haven't received any samples from MD since this video, so I'm not sure if they have actually fixed it or not. Thanks for watching :)
i just got my first sample from monster digital, and they only printed the back design and not the front 🤣A customer already ordered one too so I hope it comes out okay 🙈
Thank you for this helpful video! Did you ever find out if the invoice to your customers shows your printify price or their (Etsy) retail price?? It seems like bad practice to let your customers know what your printify cost per item is... Also, have you ever experienced printing problems using white text on black sweatshirts/hoodies? I hear the white designs/fonts on black comes out faded due to DTG printing. Thx!
Thanks for watching! The invoice shows the Printify price unfortunately. I can't remember the exact specifics but they have to include the invoice due to EU/UK importing rules. The invoice isn't included for US customers for example. Yes the prints on sweatshirts come out slightly different, mainly due to the fabric difference. From my experience sweatshirts and hoodies do seem to suffer from more issues, when I get complaints from customers, they've usually ordered a sweatshirt or hoodie. Something to explore in a future video!
This was great and so helpful! I hadn't even thought about the invoice that might be included for a customer receiving my products! I'm going to have to look into this more! I do love the Bella Canvas as well. Even though it's a little pricier than the Gildan, from my research they do not use any sweatshops and are committed to Fair Trade wages with any of the small portion of overseas manufacturing that they do from developing countries. I'd love to learn more about the other types of apparel providers too - especially with sweatshirt quality! Have you done a video like that?
Regarding the invoice, I believe that they include them only for European orders. And I've not received anything from them lately, so I'm not sure if they still do or not. No videos on any sweatshirts yet!
My reaction to Bella and Canvas was EXACTLY the same as yours! I was expecting something less flimsy and now I'm looking for a different brand. Thanks for this video. I used Monster Digital and I had ordered both black and white t-shirts. I was pleased with the print quality of my design on both. I also ordered my print in a Solid Natural color, which is like a soft yellow and I was not pleased with the quality. The design looked pretty on the t-shirt but the ink was grainy. I'm going to order some other colors to see exactly how my designs look and then I can determine which colors to feature. Thanks for your video. This was really so helpful.
Thanks for watching! People still really love the Bella Canvas shirts though! If you're looking at different brands, take a look at the Comfort Color shirts, they're pretty good and feel a lot higher quality that the 3001 imo.
This video would have been very helpful if only the audio was clearer. The music was EXTREMELY distracting and intrusive. It drowns out a lot of the most critical information.
@@EcommerceTom I had the opposite reaction. Love the music, matched your voice, so chill. PS. You also have a great recording voice in my opinion, if you were ever interested in doing some audio books or something like that.
I just ordered a shirt from Monster Digital using Printify. I had TEXT Centered perfectly. When I received the tshirt, it was noticeably off center. As for printing letters on a Black tshirt, you must order samples. Unfortunately, the letters had a Cracked appearance and far too much of the Black shirt came through the TEXT. The only alternative, is the superior silk screening process. To be more clear of how important it is to have your art work, especially your "Brand Name" printed on a shirt that will WOW your customers, think, for example, GUCCI. Let's say you ordered a Black Tshirt, with GUCCI Text in Gold. Does anyone really think GUCCI will mail you out a shirt where the Text has a cracked look with bits of Black Color showing through the Text. I do have designs with or without TEXT. And it will be either one large word or letter in a Black or shade of Black on a Black tshirt and it works out nicely. However, there is the issue of Centering I worry about and what just happened to me. I kindly asked Printify, "what if a customer orders 100 tshirts and the TEXT is Off Center. Here is what I will have to do. I will pay for the customer to Ship the shirts to me, and I will take photos of at least 25% of the shirts to prove there has been a mistake. From there, refunds will be issued. However, and once again, I have a very reliable, high quality printer that will make sure my text is centered and if I use a Gold or Silver, it will look just like a Gold or Silver. This will also mean I have to pack and ship the orders myself. I hope and pray, Monster Digital keeps Text Centered and on a regular basis, and that what happened to me, was a rare incident. UUUGGG
Issues happen, Printify have always been good with me and issue replacements with relative ease. That said, and this might be an unpopular opinion, but if you're creating a luxury brand then DTG printing just won't cut it.
