WOW! Great review. Thank you for taking the time to do this. As an owner of a handmade Etsy shop and adding a new POD shop, I was concerned about shipping and print quality. It's been a challenge for me to let go of these two knowing that they are in the hands of others. I would have expected to do this on my own, of course, I still can but you have done an exceptional job! I can see why you have done so well and will continue to do so. If I had more thumbs I would give them all up.

I'm glad this review could help make you feel a little less stressed about POD, I know for a lot of handmade sellers it can be hard to let go but this benefits of how scalable a POD business can be far outweighs the 1-2% of the time that my shirts have issues.

Great information!! 🙂 We have used all of the partners. I'd say we've been happiest with Awkward Styles, SwiftPOD, and MD. MyLocker has been unpredictable - sometimes fine, sometimes really bad.

Excellent comparison vid, thank you so much! Just getting started with Printify, was wondering about the quality of the different printers. From working with other PODs, I realize that some printers do better on some items over others. It's a little maddening, but I know that often, designers are a lot more picky than a customer.

I find your comparison videos very helpful. I would love to see one that compares different POD products. For example, I want to find the best quality t-shirts, hoodies, sneakers, wall art, duvet covers, and other popular items for print-on-demand. I hope to avoid getting comments from customers saying that the product they got feels cheap.

If you feel inclined you could do a follow up video to this, washing all the shirts (maybe in hot water and not inside out) a few times and show how the designs wear.

Hi Cassiy! Thanks so much for this video! This type of info is so helpful. Really hope you are doing well this season with sales. As usual, I do have a question lol. When setting up an item (like a Bella Canvas t-shirt) with multicolor art on Printify, do you choose a print method or does the Printer decide the print method to use? Reason I ask is because I read that one print method prints the ink better on cotton, another method prints better on polyester, and another prints fine on either fabric. That got me to thinking ... the slight print quality difference in the test shirts might have been due to the print method used by each Printer. Just a thought.

Great overview of the quality from the different printers. The one from Dream Junction does look like it has the black outline, but it is very black, so almost not visible.

This video had me lean into Awkward Styles, I ordered samples from MD and AS which AS was better quality. Now AS is leaving Printify so I had to come back to see how the others placed. 😆 Thank you. My only hope now is that MD has gotten better.😬

I found your analysis extremely helpful. I've just dipped my toe in the POD pond, as low cost as possible to see if it's for me. I find I'm enjoying it a great deal, but my POD provider (Teelaunch) is severely limited in products and Etsy competition is fierce. I'm going to go through all your videos, but would love an update if you find Awkward Styles slipping. I've just about decided on using them as my provider for garments, and am actively thinking of branching into a standalone storefront. Any insights in that realm would be fabulous. Loooooved this video and appreciate all the details you’ve included! I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on Gildan 5000 vs BC3001 for t-shirts. Do you ever feel FOMO for not offering other sweatshirt colors? Like Sand, pink, etc that seem so popular in mock ups. I think it’s a smart decision I’m just curious if at the end of the day you let the profit numbers decide. 💕💕

Ok I'll look at comparing the 3 most popular POD shirts, that's a good idea! As for the FOMO, that's an easy answer, NO! lol While you are right, those colors are super popular, what that also means is that they are constantly out of stock. The only print provider with size Large or XL of Pink sweatshirts right now is Duplium in Canada and they are almost $30/sweatshirt including shipping. Same with Sand, last year Printify stopped offering Sand color altogether of the majority of the year because of stock issues and now most of the sizes are gone again. My long term goal with this business is to have it be as passive as possible, and constantly worrying about stock issues isn't passive in my book.

Hey Fred! I probably won't do a review just for the Awkward Styles platform, personally I really like using Printify because if Awkward Styles is out of stock of something, then you can just easily switch in seconds to another print provider, also they don't have all of the color options that I like using for my shirts/sweatshirts. It looks like they do integrate to Etsy just like Printify and the prices are a little bit cheaper if you buy direct. So I've already tested the quality of the 3001 shirt through them, I'm sure it'd be a great experience if you wanted to give them a try though!

I would be interested in seeing a test like this with the same design run 3 or 4 times a few weeks to a couple months between orders to see if they are consistent in delivery and print quality. You mentioned this but I would be interested in putting Pantene colors to the image and see how close they come to matching the color sent to them. Thank you for doing this work.
