I've been eagerly waiting for this video since you mentioned it on your Instagram and couldn't click on it fast enough. Really interesting prints from upcycled plastics. And the effect that acrylic underpainting? Wow. Your creative mind is fascinating!
Another wonderful demonstration and lesson Marta. You are an inspiration to us of allowing a freedom of experiment and trialling to find new ways to create ideas for future outcomes. Thank you for all your efforts in the filming, editing and descriptions of everything you use.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you create beautiful and inspiring print project. It’s really really stunning and an amazing technique too.
Love those ❤ I got so inspired a little while ago and bought some printmaking inks. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I will...it's been years 40 years since I made a print; intaglio, etching, lithography or lino. I'm a bit nervous but also quite excited to the idea. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏
Very intriguing & beautiful result. The skies in particular are stunning but all have gorgeous texture & effects. But please take care of your lungs. I’m a Paramedic of 23 years & the damage from inhaling harmful vapours cannot be overstated. Basic rule of thumb - if you can smell it it’s already in your respiratory tract! Please use a respirator that is designed specifically for harmful vapours. You do not want to develop COPD or other lung damage, nor have the toxins build up in your body & particularly, organs such as your liver. Burning plastics is extremely dangerous in that respect. So whether using a soldering iron, heat gun, flame or iron, please use a respirator & shower well after your sessions. You do not want to spend your future attached to an oxygen tank
Thank you for this video! I almost did not watch it, because of the "burning" , but decided to check and I am glad that I did watch! I have watched several videos about tyvek and wondered id it would work with crisp and chocolate packets (tyvek is a bit beyond my budget). I have been saving these to use once I acquire a heat tool, but wondered if they would work. Thank you for letting me know that my guess is correct!😊
@@jeraldbaxter3532 ha ha I know it should say melted plastic, my brain was not working that day 😅 Crisp packets are perfect and I think any plastic that is quite noisy as a general rule! Enjoy plastic melting 🫠
Fascinating video. What it brings to mind for me is a World War II battle field. With barbed wire, old fence and war debris. Maybe not what you were going for but it what it spoke to me.
@its really not a haha...your way way too young to expose yourself...uve lost many many family members to exposure to bad fumes...my dad for one...a roofer with hot tar...many others..a road worker to that hot patching...and exposure to asbestos as a builder b...and PEOPLE WHONDO MILITARY service dont have a prayer...as an artist....im pushing 80...i bought a professio al real respirator at age 30...just the solvents alone will kill u slowly...had way to many artist friends die from it... Being poor...your not worth millions u wont ever see justice especially with the current leftist two tier justice system the world now has...really a vile islamic political system...DO U KNOW ISLAM STILL HAS SLAVES...AND ITS THEIR GOD GIVEN RIGHT...seriously at 80 and having gone to war twice...and also seen the worst of the worst world wide....this world is the worst it has ever been...and Mark my words...its gonna get a lot worse...I just cry about it daily...or I get so mad I wish I was young and fight it. .CollagraphPrinting
Please research the safety issues! Melting plastic releases MANY toxic compounds. A mask is not enough. You should use a respirator and outdoors at the very least.
Amazing!🤩 I haven't made a collagraph since my Uni days (i majored in printmaking) and in fact, I think the only printmaking i have done is, making a stamp and working with a gelli plate. i would love to start a channel showing my gelli plate journey. do you or have you ever done a recording of how to set that up? thank you for all of your recordings in action! I've been binging a bit and I've am inspired to print (and draw - i have been sculpting for many years, not much drawing) again 🙏
@@JT-mq6oc that’s so nice to hear that you feel inspired to get back into printmaking. Printmaking community is full of really enthusiastic people and everyone is always willing to share their ideas, that’s what I love about it! I just film on my phone, having most up to date phone with good storage helps. Enjoy printmaking 🤗🙌
Hi Marta, I love watching your videos and learn so much from them! I wonder if any of your viewers could help me - when I soak the paper and put it through the press it sticks to my plate and doesn't pull off clean ,, am I putting too much ink on the plate, wetting the paper too much,, any suggestions would be greatfully received thanks so much 🙏🏻
Eztreemly interesting....but I dont know one place in usa that allows burn barrels...and thats not foil...foil is a metal..that is an oil based acrylic probably plastic packaging
Not sure why you keep saying ‘burning’. If you burnt the packaging you would have nothing left. What you are actually doing in melting the plastic. Try using the term burning for melting: ice, chocolate etc, it doesn’t work grammatically. Otherwise nice idea.
