I'm glad found a video that explains this disease concisely without acting like it's still a mystery of spooky cannibals, when it's a well documented phenomenon.
Prions are fascinating. I wish they had been discussed more in my college biology classes but they were mostly just mentioned in passing. I had never even known they were responsible for Alzheimers and Parkinson's disease!
This tribe that ate the dead, would do this is as a ceremonial practice whenever anyone in their tribe had died. The women and children had to eat the cooked body to free that person's spirit into the afterlife. Kuru can lay dormant in the body for up to fifty years before being noticed.
I’m going to be studying biomedicine in university and I really seriously doubt I’ll be able to study these in depth but they are truly fascinating. I always had the suspicion when I was younger that prions may have been causing Alzheimer’s disease but obviously it was only a thought. But as it turns out that guess wasn’t too far off. I hope more research is done and those smart lab people can make some sort of breakthrough/cure.
.Do anyone still doubt natural herbs? I've seen the great importance of natural herbs and the wonderful work they have done in people's lives. I wonder why people still spend their money on surgery, injections and drugs each time they are sick. Natural herbs can cure all kinds of illness including herpes, diabetics, asthma, Cancer, hepatitis, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, etc. I've seen it with my own eyes. I was cured of Irritable bowel syndrome and my Sister and her Husband were cured of herpes by dr Osemuahu who uses natural herbs to cure different kind of illness. Even Dr. Osemuahu proved to the whole world that natural herbs can cure all diseases and he cured countless of people using natural herbs. I know is hard to believe but am a living testimony. There is no harm in trying herbs. Contact Dr Osemuahu(whatsap no): +2349053317809 or email: dr.o.osemuahu@gmail.com God bless you.....
@@tekkentekken2032 natural is a very loose term, also not because something is made in a lab means it's not "natural" for example penicillin is an antibiotic produced by the mould penicillium, but you can find it as an inyection and tabs in a drugstore
So many misleading information out there attributing Kuru/CJD to cannibalism. Although it is clear that the Fore people of Papua New Guinea consumed infected individuals with these prions it is not accurate to say that cannibalism alone causes Kuru/CJD. So thank you for that explanation
I hear that a decedent being cremated who had CJD that the cremation doesn't kill CJD. Is that correct. I understand that sterilization does not kill it. But if the fluid gets burnt up, I would think it would kill it.
