"Do things that terrify you" I'm scared shitless of heights, but last year I went up the John Hancock building in Chicago which is 95 stories I believe, then I finally got on a plane. Not just 1, Two on the way to and Two on the way back. When I came back from my trip, I attempted to enjoy roller coasters. No matter how much I wanted to, I cried on the first one and I rode a smaller one and it wasn't that bad. I'd say it was worth it. I'm still scared of heights, but those moments were memorable.

9:11 The problem with Civet coffee (apart from the fact that nowadays the animals typically just get fed coffee beans all day, every day) is that it's not made from good coffee. Typically it is made using Robusto Coffee Beans which is a much cheaper and more acidic/bitter than the better Arabica Coffee Beans and although the animal does remove a lot of the bitterness from the Robusto coffee bean and gives it a different flavour, the premium price tag is pretty much down to the novelty of it rather than the quality or taste of the coffee. That's not to say that civet coffee is bad, it's different but compared to a good 100% Arabica coffee that might cost $10 for a 500g bag of beans, Civet just really isn't worth having more than once.

That is the date the coffee was roasted. Coffee is best when it's made from beans 4 days to 3 weeks after roast. I get weekly shipments from these guys to Texas and it's always roasted 2-4 days prior to arrival. I love coffee and I'm excited to try the Achieve coffee because the flavor profile sounds like exactly what I like in coffee!

I'm so excited for the new stuff that's these guys are doing. I know Let's Play will always be gaming and I'm glad I can always go back to that channel for that content but all this new stuff that they're doing sounds super interesting, and I'm glad Geoff is spearheading them because they seem to make him happy.

This was the best podcast yet, specifically when ah started talking about self-improvement/facing fears. The human psyche has a built in defense mechanism for situations that it thinks will kill you or bring extreme danger. We call it anxiety. Confronting those situations is how we improve as people and gain confidence in ourselves. One of the best pieces of advice I've ever heard regarding this is, if it scares and excites you, you should definitely do it. (And if you're going to do it, be as safe as you can about it.) If the task in question is too much for you to handle, i.e. Swimming with a shark, the next best thing to do is educate yourself on the subject as much as you can: statistics, history, modern availability and usage, etc. So have a great day, do something incredible in your life that you would be proud of, and when your fears face you, stare it down until it blinks. TL;DR: it was great to hear AH talk about doing things they were scared of and how they've embraced that part of themselves. Learning from failure is how progress is achieved.

Wow that's crazy, I live like 20 minutes away from Spider Mountain and I didn't even know they had opened it until I heard Geoff talk about it! It's either on or nearby Reveille Peak Ranch, which is where they hold the "Austin" Spartan Race every year (quotation marks bc like they said this is an hour and a half from Austin)

failures can teach a lot of things whereas early success often is a stopping point for some people, which can lead to never experimenting to find that there can be multiple/different paths to/different levels of success. Though too much failure is still a negative.
