Growing up in a poor family in Louisiana, John began to sell ecstasy as a child. In his high school years, John turned to weed, alcohol and eventually meth. His drug addiction lead him to being expelled in 9th grade twice and left his parents unable to deal with him. John bought himself a bus ticket and headed out to Tucson, Arizona to live with his brother, however, his addiction to meth soon left John on his own. After being involved in a shoot out, several stints in prison, and a near death experience, John turned to Narcotics Anonymous for help and is now enjoying his second chance at life.

This guy is awesome! People saying he’s still high on meth you’re wrong! He’s so greatful to be alive and that he’s in recovering! Not everyone just sits there and tells their testimony with no emotions he is a breath of fresh air and I so enjoyed everything he had to say! When he started crying he is feeling the remorse for all the dumb stuff we do while we are deep in our addictions I know first hand I’ve felt that pain many times ! Thank you for sharing us addicts need to talk and let it out it helps us to heal!!!

It’s one thing to sit there and think about sharing but to actually share something so personal is very difficult. I am a social anxiety to begin with. When I first started sharing in group I could feel myself shaking. My mind would race. I changed subjects in the middle of a sentence. I looked at the floor while I’m talking. Then leave out of there feeling like a fool. Inside of my head it all made sense but when I spoke it out loud it made no sense. I respect anybody who’s willing to share their truth.

@@chrism6904 Annoying isn't it, when people assume because you use heroin that you don't work and aren't productive, I used for 11 years, worked the entire time, in fact I kept getting better jobs and moving on in my career because the heroin helped me deal with otherwise debilitating mental health issues. Most people just assume people like us don't exist.

You would have a lot more credibility if you put your hat in right. The purpose of a ball cap is to keep the sun out of a ball players eyes. What is the purpose of wearing a brim shading the back of your head?
