Yea my dad was a nurse in a jail and he said he was one of few who cared about the inmates. He has some good stories about it and is now a “honorary homie” lol
Marty was such a good man he saw her as a human and not as a damn prisoner I think we need more COs like this. Especially with the mental health crisis in prison!
@@lilyane7354 Some do, people either don't wana hear it or don't believe them. 😒 So that's why criminals give up, bc once branded as one society down grades them. 🙁
Well when you've spent your entire adult life in prison, of course you are scared to get out, how do you even start life that late and that handicapped
People said the guard is to nice. Well she basically came to prison when she was a child, and at the same time he had a new born. Fatherly instincts? Like the doctor said he looked after her.
I really like this guard. There are some very bad ones but for each of those there are good ones. I know first had that sone do seriously care. God bless them ❤️
I would like to go on record to say I have grown up really sick and I have been in hospitals and doctors offices most of my life and I guarantee you this never happens. Most doctors keep patients at arms length to save their own sanity I have never experienced any such gestures that we find on the shows in real life. I’m not saying the love and care is not there it’s just, sometimes it’s just not practical or feasible, most of the time actually. doctors always have 1 million patients that need them and they’re focusing on they don’t get to just pick one special person to put all their effort into. I’m guessing this also applies to the prison guard. I wish caretakers could be put in the position to reach this level of care but there’s just too many people out there
Agreed. I sometimes see a Dr for 5 mins and they might make a promise but it never actually materialises. I expect nothing and that way I don't end up disappointed if they promise a referral or to chase down what is actually happening with me. Usually they just fix the acute issue and discharge you
Yes this show upholds the illusio. That the system works and wants to help, but it's overworked and underpaid and they just can't care like this even if they wanted to.
You’re right… but I bet new medical people struggle with falling into the trap of getting over involved. Because they’re new, human, and haven’t yet been able to emotionally detach. 😢
It depends on the person, the prison, and the country. At Halden prison in Norway for example (and other Norwegian prisons for that matter), the guards have actually a fairly decent relationship with the inmates. That's because the prison is designed to rehabilitate the inmates, and help them improve and get back on their feet. The cells are also on par with hotel rooms, and the inmates gets to do various stuff, as well as receive help with learning a craft so they can get a job when they get out. It is a prison, in the sense that the inmates aren't allowed certain things, and have to follow some strict rules. But that doesn't mean those inside can't be treated like human beings. I recommend watching "NowThis News" video about Halden prison.
There are some that do it to help people they are rare but I had a rough time in my life and encountered three that were absolutely amazing. I think if more people were like this in that profession it would make a huge difference in lives.
holy shhhhh i havent seen that actor in years, the one the doctor talks to, shrink or something.. he's a french canadian actor named Patrick Labbé, first time i saw him on tv it was 1989, i was 8 yrs old.
All the people freaking out because a prison guard was shown to be a good and caring person. Uh-oh someone in Hollywood is going to get fired over that one.... Heaven forbid.
