I interpreted the door as 'he is still hopeful that someday he will be able to see the outside world, not from that window upwards, but from that door'. Yours is also logical.
I think the ending means he died. That he opened the door to another world, leaving his body behind and finally being free from the fear, stress, and sufferring of the human world.

Wow it have deep message. A prisoners life just passes from black shiny hairs to grey ones .it shows how a one mistake a one stupid crime leads to the punishment that is Life long. No Family nothing just a four walls. It breaks from inside mentally.. One mistake and life long punishment... not seeing the world again. . One should take lifelong lesson from it.
Suhas 9009 Well, if they murdered about 3,000 people, they would deserve it, yeah? It's not like if they accidentally go 3 over the speed limit, they're closed off from the world forever. Life sentences are for things that impact a country or a state. A "mistake" such as running a red light, but murder Or bombings, definitely deserve a life sentence. But a mistake will not.

He was just a prisoner to the four walls of his own mind. It represents how easy it is to break lifelong imprisonment by our own mind, all we have to do is build a door ourselves.

Oh... I interpreted kinda differently. He spent his enter life in prison but was able to leave through the door to heaven, death. Like, death was his escape. That's why the death penalty is so controversial; is death or life in prison a more suitable punishment? But, I like your interpretation better :)
michael mcdonald I think that he sat around doing nothing his whole life not trying to work a way out of his cell until he had the idea of drawing the door. The cekk represents how he feels trapped in modern day society, where if your unsuccessful then you'll be trapped in a prison without any bars. The door represented his independence. He finally decided to do something about his situation and stop waiting for help. The moral is that you shouldn't just wait around for someone to get you out of your own mess, you have yo be the one who draws the solution. And that came from a thirteen year old.
The point is that this person who made this animation, made it simple. he or she made it the best they could, and tried their best. that's a good way to start something.
I feel like the story is that he has been in that cell so long that he has lost all hope. He then either dies from natural causes or suicide. The door represents the afterlife in which he is about to enter. Once he opens the door, he has passed.

Does anybody know what each tally on the wall represents? Could he be counting the days, weeks, or months? I did the math and got approximately 1,050 in all. If that was months, that would be 87.5 years. Does that sound right? If not, then what is it?
Good animation but what Idont understand is how he got old so quickly because there's only like 5-6 years worth of tally marks,unless each one is a week.
Tarantulalover 01 😂😂 if the talley marks were a day it would probably barely get to a year. If it was weeks... Guess what, its not even 10 years of Talley marks.
I must add it's illegal to buy food with local currency in prison/Arabia....even if you pay what they asked for at the cashier... they'll still consider the goods stolen.... Devilish rotten system....
Overall it's not bad. The character movements are well done. It would have been nice to see a bit more variety in the tally marks, as it looks like the same set of tallys repeated. How did you go about the sequence of drawing the door? Driven keys? All in all nice job, keep up the good work.
I think this animation really represents that people lose sence of time inside of their own head. you can't really get out untill you create the opening your self.

I really appreciated this video, it can open several free flow of thoughts, interpretations, deep stream of consciousness of how could be a life of a living dead human in jail. Once, an inmate broke the rules inside prison, he hurt an other prisoner, he was accused of a trouble maker ... To be punished for this, they took out his cell's tv, the day after he was found dead, he had made a suicide. His act of suicide might be done to put an end to his life and the fact of depriving him of his tv was the last straw ... Life is a bridge that leads us from birth to death, friends, family members, peers, neighbors, coleagues, classmates, I think, it is worthwhile living, sharing memories, because one day which is sober (realistically, we pass away), I am sure, if we are with good manners, honest behaviors our life pass throughout great, intersting expectations, getting on and growing up with old, bosom friends, a family are the awesome gifts you can get a hold of, we need to enjoy our situations, to be happy whatever is the state, be motivated get further with our careers enthusiastically. Accedents and conflects inadvertently happen but, we need to aware of the consequences and avoid them as possible as we could. Mutually respected
This video is actually showing how you do the same thing everyday. The prison cell represents your cell phone. And prisoner represents you. Get out of your own prison.
The animation isn't the best, the grafic also but I know how hard animations and characters are. But one thing that you could easily do better is not to always use the same texture for the stripes?(I'm german, I mean these stripes on the wall)but to use like 3 different ones.

Cookie Dookie That he was patient true all his days he marked it well and finaly when his day came to be free a door opened to him maybe to life or to death. May you break free of every Prison that the davil built in your mind. May you pass from death to eternal life which is found trough Christ JESUS our savior.
