I like Erica Davidson - she was well suited for the part. Patsy King is an amazing actress. She was well suited for the role & she played her character well🙂. I believe that she's a really nice person, Has a great sense of humour & really down to earth🙂😉
Yeah, it makes her feel better having the prisoners to look down on whilst they're looking up to Jackie and helps that she knows Erica in the right position who didn't sack her for being pissed at work.
Didn’t know about Prisoner until after I had watched Wentworth about 10 times through. Now I am on my second time through Prisoner and I love it! Watching from the USA 😊
@@sb6678 when dose she return watched every season 3 times over don't remember her coming back though l know they recycle charters yes she was very pretty
So, queen Bea strikes again. Her methods can at times be unconventional, but she really is an admirable top dog who tries her best to look out for the ones who need assistance. She didn't owe Jackie anything, after all, she had only known her a short time. Initially, it seemed like a difficult plan which was destined to backfire, but in the end, her and the crew successfully held up the transfer and it worked to perfection. Good to see Jackie got some justice done eventually anyway.
Everyone deals with grief differently so that's a bit unfair and he has taken a long time (a few episodes) to even go out dating he put his grief into his work that's y he was always at wentworth 😊
I remember within these walls, I used to watch it with my mum as a kid! I remember pretending to work in the prison office, I'm sure it's where my love of prison programmes comes from!
Ha ! Lizzie suggestion that her and Doreen should go into running a pub together. Lizzie would run it dry herself !! I can see her now, totally drunk, repeating ''How now brown cow'' !!
3:14 Jackie's (Sarah) partner is a worm. 9:04 Vera has such a spiteful and evil streak - she is forgiven by Davo and allowed back to work and in 24 hours she is back at her usual. 10:55 Lizzy wants to study! LMAO! 29:15 Fletch - you better not - that is so unethical. 45:00 Ted is really out of touch....
All the staff , even Davo have crossed the line in their outside relationships. Why hasn't Davo found another "social worker" ASAP ? Prisoners and parolee's aren't being properly taken care of.
HEY! Watch it Buddy your Showing your age Dude, Lucky we had a colour TV set in our Boarding school, they use to let us stay up and watch in every Thursday LOL, RIP Prisoner.
It would've been an interesting storyline if they paired Vera up with Joan Ferguson. OH BOY! The whole prison would be trying to escape. Can you imagine it?
Poor Bea 😢 She didn’t deserve that And poor Mrs Davidson too. I actually liked Jackie Nolan but the storyline was boring and I didn’t like Julian. Lizzie and Doreen together are an absolute disaster to themselves and others! No hope atall
now that Jackie is out legally, she should speak out about what happened to her to keep it from happening to others. And since she does have some pull, it would be nice if she would help other prisoners who are also deserving.
Teresa Dewey She’s still an ex-crim and it would still be an officer v. crim no matter what her status is. The Government won’t admit that they hired a shoddy officer and could hit her with a slander suit since there’s no proof.
If the woman officer is in the system and still working there others will come forward if Jackie would tell her story. Also Fletch and Davo know her story so they could set up a sting to catch her in the act. Sex lies and videotape type of sting. It would work, it's been yrs since this happened who knows where the perp is now. Based on the storyline sounds like she still works at Barnhurst.
Lizzie and Doreen could open a bakery. They could take cake decorating courses and do birthday cakes, wedding cakes, Bar Mitzvahs, Anniversary cakes Quinceaneras. That's a big event for a fifteen year old Hispanic girl. Then they could cater food and make good profits that way.
YEH! put her in with the inmates, You know the rules about lagging don't you, Bee would soon fix her alright LOL. PS it would be real smashing to she her get a Bashing, Hey Im'e a poet and i don't know it HAA HA!.
Quite ironic that Fiona Spence and Denise Morgan were partners in real life. Maybe they had a lovers tiff that day, and Denise wrote that into the script to get back at her lol.
LOL--Denise is the one who came up with the nickname "Vinegar Tits" in the first episode. She joked, "Fiona Spence has never forgiven me." From all accounts, however, they were clearly a devoted couple over the 32 years they were together.
Denise Morgan is one of the better writers of this show and you can always tell from her particular style of writing. She can make a dull storyline into a very good episode. She was very talented. Plus, I didn't know that Fiona Spence and Denise Morgan were partners in real life.
@@MoonOverYou I saw something on here a while back. It was an interview with Fiona and she said when she played Vera, and afterward there would be kids that would ride by her house on their bikes and shout " Hey! Vinegar Tit's!" Not being cruel but as a fan to her.
Vera is right this time. Why should Nolan not be punished?! So what if she had her own business, it doesn't change what crime she committed. She's acting like she got 30 years not 3! She should suck it up and get on with it. What makes her so special that she should get away with armed robbery AND escaping? Anyone else (especially a bloke) would've got 10 years plus!
And that right there @38:05 - @38:16 is exactly why Bea Smith should never be released. The writers never allowed the character to evolve, change, reform in any way shape or form.Any small glimmer of any hope for the character Beatrice Smith was always taken away with they way the writers obviously chose to write her story. She should never be Top Dog nor a role model for anyone that enters that prison. I would have loved to seen Bea become a decent role model for others, get involved in the PRG from the inside, become a trustee so she could attend PRG meetings and then been released and set off into the sunset with a handsome man to live happily ever after. Let's face it, the character and the actress deserved at least that much of a decent send off!
Sam Ryder I wholeheartedly agree with you. Bea didn't help matters for her future and when the Freak came along, there was definitely no chance of her getting out whether it was the Freak's doing or Bea's doing, or both. 😃
@@Summer21. Probably one of the reasons Val Lehman left the show? The character wasn't evolving in any way, shape or form. It's a shame, because I liked her
@@Karin- Val admitted on video footage on Studio 10, during the 40th anniversary of Prisoner that there was a new producer who did not like her, which was why she left as opposed to the other story she has told in interviews, even on DVD and in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. 😃
14:44 just when the viewer has been led to believe that Vera is being spiteful and/or childish about Nolan.....Vera joins the dots to arrive at a devastating conclusion. Brilliant piece of script writing matched by Fiona Spence's interpretation of those words. One of my favourite Prisoner scenes.
Someone on outside duty fucked up badly. How is it that a reporter is not seen by a perimeter fence by staff? How is it that two prisoners could talk to a reporter unobserved for over 5 minutes? I know this is a TV show but you need to have some kind of situational realism.
I personally thought the actress who played Jackie was better as the nun a few years later. This is the first episode directed by the wonderful Kendal Flanagan.
"I didn't mean to" "I didn't mean to" "all i did was" "I didn't mean to" Right! Well their hearts are in the right place. As for their heads......they are nowhere to be found in anything they do or say; ever.
I felt like slapping Doreen and Lizzie. Their actions are played off as them being stupidly unthinking but it's really quite vicious at times. They didn't care about hurting Jacqui's chances of being pardoned or about her being sent back to Barnhurst despite the awful time she'd had there before, yet if another prisoner had done to them what they did to Jacqui, they wouldn't be so forgiving themselves.
digchri2 Yes- there was absolutely no loyalty at all there for a fellow prisoner, who, incidentally, had done absolutely nothing to them. But, Doreen _has_ got extreme learning difficulties and is very retarded, but Lizzie has absolutely no excuse for being so nasty!!
Nothing Vera says to the inmates is wrong. Sure, she stirs but the fact is she just makes factual statements and would like to keep the prisoners aware of their reality.
I'm still not understanding why is she being released what makes her so much more special than the rest of the ladies..I mean they really went to bat for her
It was in part down to her successful attempt on self-rehabilitation, but it mainly happened due to significant outside influence, and she had someone in Julian who was prepared to go that extra mile for her.
Fair view, 8ball BUT she did escape and should have to pay a penalty for that. She should have to serve the remainder of her original sentence. What message does this all send?? If you can get away with escaping and you become a success the law will look the other way? Bygones and all that? What about her original crime? Repercussions should not just poof!/disappear. What a load of crap.
@@oktobersodyssey Yes but, to be fair, this is the sort of justice system you get when it's run by a population of the descendents of criminals 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@oktobersodyssey Spot on. Very few prisoners believe they deserve to be inside. Most think they're hard done by. What makes Nolan so special? Vera, once again, has the answer. It's not what you know, it's who you know. Or, at least, have access to.
I didn't know this existed until after watching Wentworth 3 times... all seasons...and while moaning I missed it, I was told about Prisoner. I am hopeless hooked. I love it. I even dream I'm in Wentworth. How crazy is that?
I was watching Prisoner and did a google search about something concerning it. Luckily it was just months before the launch of Wentworth. Being in the US I would never have known. Sadly, WW ends in 2 seasons/20 episodes. The freak is alive and I also read Marie Winter will still be on. Imagine the friction. Betcha Vera's baby gets abducted by the freak.
@@hrhlou Look for a group called "Wentworthy" on facebook. All the latest about season 8 is there plus lots of fun wentworth stuff. I'm also in the US. YOu do know it's on Netflix, right?

+Lamp Shade but the women of Wentworth always talk about themselves like they are innocent victims in a concentration camp! This of course is fiction and that makes the inmates the heroes and Screws the villains. in real life Vera would be a hero to all decent civilised people. I wouldn't like lose a lot of sleep if I knew the Freak was working in a prison.
The76888435th Beatle Yeah- i know!! Always weird how so many comments underneath the episodes are slating the officers when they are just doing their job- which is making like difficult for the criminals and reprimanding them every time they step out of line.
+Lamp Shade... I disagree (and know a couple prisoner officers here in the states). Their job is to (A)keep prisoners and staff safe, and (B)reprimand toward rehabilitation... not to harrass, bully or "making life difficult for criminals" as you put it.
The lass who the reporter quoted (Bea) in his article denies having spoken to him. It would apparently have been illegal for him to speak to her, but the newspaper still prints it? Looks like the Aussie press is no better regulated than the British! So that's probably accurate ;-)
Along with bleach and oil and the sewing machine needles. And the kitchen with it's knives and cooking oil and the ovens and burners, and the shop with the hammers and saws. I saw a movie when I was a teenager about these women in a prison and at dinner, one of the lesbian prisoners tossed a dinner roll at one of the other women so she could eat it, and her girlfriend picked up a pot full of boiling oil and threw it at the woman and they had to put her in the freezer so her skin wouldn't peel off her arms and face, along with the woman behind her in the queue. She was also splattered with scalding oil.
*Finally* Erica's been rumbled!! I'm so glad someone in authority has finally realised how crap Erica is at her job- and given her a good bloody talking to and a warning!!!
At 23:27 MK 2 twin axle Transit i used to help my old pops deliver early morning papers at the weekdays in one when i was a kid. good old vans them the modern MK 7's are shit fule pumps knacker up on them all the time an it cost 14 hundred quid a pop to fix load of shit. The Transit went downhill after the MK 5. They definitely don't make them like they used to.
I thought bea said when it was her birthday afew episodes backs that she 'stopped counting birthdays after 39'? Is she not 40 in the prison? Why did she say 'whose going to take on a 50 year old hairdresser' to Lizzie and Boreen??
... anybody remember the British prison drama, pre Cell Block H, Within These Walls? love Davo but her wooden acting does grate on me a bit. I still think Googie Withers should have accepted the role as governor. Apparently she was approached by the producers but she declined the part...
