@Pud Pete due to the in-game mechanics, blunt weapons have a higher likelihood of knocking someone out rather than killing them, hence why the Slavers in Warband used maces
@@ambiguousamphibian Every game that has a concept of prisioners (RimWorld, Kenshii, previous M&B titles) are designed to have blunt damage be way more effective at taking prisioners. If you find a slave hunter, headhunter or police-type enemy - those usually use blunt weapons. I had no confirmation, but I strongly asumed Tournament Arrows were blunt.
TIP : When entering a city or village, there is a bar of people showing at the top, right clicking on any companion options will show you there full set of stats

A high medicine skill increases the chance of wounding I'm pretty sure. A companion is usually best, but you can always assign yourself as the Surgeon in your clan menu to get a little boost to level it faster.

It might be a good idea to become a vassal, as leading armies is one of the only ways to increase the leadership perk. It goes extremely slow otherwise.

@ambiguousamphibian You can't really get disciplinarian without joining a faction as a vassal and then assembling an army of your clan mates to follow you around. The amount of xp you generate through "high morale" is ludicrously small and you have to maintain 75 morale which is aggravatingly difficult to do for an extended period of time. And you'll end up gaining a few points at most.
I have to say, newer to the channel but I'm really liking it. I find myself very disappointed when the video ends when there's not another video of whatever series it is. Thanks for the videos and keep making more :D
you should probably get the RecruitablePrisonersMods to be able to recruit high tier troops and Distinguished Service mod if you still want companions and want to get them without hiring them you can probably find both easily by searching them by name but if you want i can post the links here too
You could have cheesed this by just joining an ongoing siege by sneaking into the castle. Defenders usually win in this game 4 to 1 and you get a literal instant army of gear and freed prisoners.
Those Battani Fain Archers are, by a very large margin, the best unit in the game. Also you are going to have a tough time chasing down bandits once you get an army. Horses will allow your infantry to move faster, as well as boost your inventory size.
I remember when i play warband, i just turn about 80% of my armies as ranged troops and let them camps far away while 20% of melee troops in line become the baits. But most of the times my ranged troops just kill tons of enemies before they reach the melee line. Im wondering if it would work here.
There was a time in development when all crossbow troops in the game were equipped with tournament bolts and did blunt damage. By the time I was fighting in big army battles I was pulling in enough prisoners to ransom or convert them and fund my war effort while replenishing any losses I took.
YO Amphibian, I would highly recommend you check out the game Exanima. Feels like Zomboid mixed with Dark souls in a weird way. I think you might have fun with it and I'm sure there are plenty of videos/challenge runs you could do!
If you use blunt tipped arrows Like the tournament arrows, you would get more prisoners that way. But I love the vid so keep it up. Tell the tale of Jack Sparrow!!!

maybe if you employed the use of a blunt instrument, of the handheld variety while aided by the speed of your horse to augment strikes you could more reliably knock them unconscious. Nah that doesn't exist, surely it's a mythological weapon. What is this Mæčě you speak of?
Highly suggest farming forest bandits (They eventually upgrade to the best archer unit in the game) and steppe bandits for some half decent cav (Mountain bandits can sometimes spawn on horseback, but I think those are just their chiefs). Consider farming peasants too since they cost nothing to maintain and eventually upgrade to mercenary units. EXXXXTRA TIP: Buy a store ASAP. I suggest a woodworking store in Battania. It'll pay itself back in literally 2 weeks and after that it'll fund another store while reducing the amount of denars you have to pay your men, its easily the best investment you can do in this game.
When in a tournament if there are any named people target their tema they are lords have alot of armor and bastards the best way to try and kill them is with a team Ps people with THE in thier name are not lords EX oros the boar also don't gamble on yourself until the lords are dead
Or gamble every round and save scum your way to undeserved wealth. I haven't played in a while but shield bash/kick, attack, block, repeat used to be quite effective. I could take out lords while wearing rags.
It's super late, I know, but I believe tournament arrow quivers also are higher capacity, so like 30 shots by default and so having 2 is like 60 shots.
I like to im agine this as the journey of a man, Jack Sparrow. instead of just killing bandits and recruiting people village to village, he discovers the stories of these bandits, and resolves himself to help them rise, of course they try t o run his pockets when they first meet him, but he always converts the few who manages to survive. Is he a Bandit King? Will he conquer the world for the people? Or is he just eccentric?
15:09 "Prisoner Recruits ONLY" and then hires a mercenary. Perhaps, are you saying that mercenaries are prisoners too? Not by the force of others, but held captive to the lifestyle. Unable to escape from a prison of their own making.
In 1v1 matches, if you press E while blocking when he goes for an swing, you can smack him with your shield wich stuns him shortly, during that stun you can get a safe attack in. That way you can whittle his health down without ever getting hit, just needs a tiny bit of practice and you good to go, never lost an 1v1 with that tactic.
Why wouldn't you look at the prisoners section of the wiki before making a video like this? The third sentence explains how to get prisoners 100% of the time.
There's a perk either in Archery or Horse Riding that allows you to use any bow you want while mounted. When I tried it the perk wasn't working or there was some other bug causing a problem but hey maybe that's been fixed now. Incidentally, there was a Roguery perk that was supposed to let me recruit bandit parties rather than fighting them but either that perk wasn't working either or I was an idiot and never figured out how to do it properly. One or the other.
Fun fact shooting someone in the leg can often be more lethal than the chest irl. So many veins and arteries running in the legs makes for a good chance of bleeding out. Hence why the argument of "wounding them in the leg" is probably less kind than people intended when referring to self defense/law enforcement. Imagine it'd be even more likely with arrows. Just seems messier
Anyone who tries this kind of thing, if you see a red skull when they go down it means they died, using blunt weaponry raises the chance of knocking them out by a lot I think nearly makes it a sure thing. If they are in the game yet a two handed maul from horseback against looters would make some quick progress.
I've tried doing this: getting tons of prisoners and peasants to form an army to seize the empire like the glorious Ming Dynasty... Yeah it didn't work out.
Y'know... If you use blunt weapons you're gonna be less likely to kill them... And if you see a red skull it means they're definitely dead and not injured.
I love that the comments are all mocking him for not knowing the sub-sub mechanics of the game. A lot if not most are holdovers from warband without any tutorial or explanation
The constant switching really hurts my eyes and I don't see much point, if you were to do it, it would be better to just remove the animation altogether because it's much too stimulating, but your voice is definitely exotic.
How do you finish this game? ive been playing for a year and although i am now leader of the southern empire its a one step forward two steps back sort of thing. Every one is against me and im fighting on all sides :-)
