My father has one of these ‘85 Rebels sitting in the garage that has been stored since around ‘89. Mint condition! Maybe I can bully him into getting it running again 😅
Hey Ken cool lil bikes! I was working at the local Honda Dealership as a Honda Tech when these hit the showroom!...they sold for $1,295.00 then! Lol! This one is for sure clean! Great find!
Hi guys;I have an 05 Rebel ,with 2000 miles on it. It looks brand new. I m older, so I couldn't ride the bike ,it was too heavy.I bought it brand new in 95. Now that was a beautiful bike too. I traded my Suzuki 800 interceptor, on this. Traded even, for this, and the dealer in California, was delivering, another bike in New York, so they dropped mine off, and made that delivery. When they were going back, they picked my old bike. It was on dealership floor 3 days, and it sold. The dealership called me ,and said ,the customer loves it. Nicest bike they ever had. Glad both of us got nice bikes, and will have a nice home.
I was obsessed with this bike when I was a teenager, first, it’s not as huge as the harleys or the typical cruisers, second it’s cheap, fourth it looks good and lastly it’s reliable. Unfortunately cheap as it was, I still can’t afford it back then. It’s the best one if you just want to ride a small cruiser or don’t really into speed but you want to look good on wheels.
That reminds me of taking my motorcycle license test. Thats what they would give to people in the school who didnt have their own bike. All the d.c. cops had them also.
My '18 V Star 250 was in the same beautiful shape when I bought it two years ago! A bit bigger and torqueier than the Honda with a V-Twin. But both are nice bikes for noobies or those of us that are returning to riding after decades. Muscle memory does fade folks! Anyway, like this one, it just needed a good cleaning and the usual service. Reliable and fun, no matter which one you pick. I've been seeing a lot more smaller bikes around here this season. They seem happy with their choices and smile when We see each other. Generally, bikes bring out the good in people. A person in a good mood is a friendlier person! Bikes...goooodaha.
Perfect starter bike for anyone wanting to learn how to ride. They use these specifically at DMV approved first time riders school. They're bullet proof
I've seen the MSF Beginner courses use these and the V Star 250 like mine. Being a rusty returning rider after some 50 years outta the saddle, at 68, these bikes fit like a glove.
That was my friend's wife's first bike in similar color, but I don't remember the year. It was from late 90s or early 2000s Believe me or not, you can do decent wheelies on that thing LMAO When I was younger and stupid I laughed at those bikes, but now I can really appreciate the design and profile of that little cruiser. It really looks good and replicates a nice cruiser. Timeless design it is, looks better than some of the newest cheaply made cruisers with a lot of black cheap plastic. I would love to mess around on that bike lol I love that classic Honda wing on the tank, looks gorgeous.
Candy Paint and Chrome all around! I have a 2015 Rebel in pristine condition and I agree they are going to be collected as new bikes skip out on the chrome & paints are flat!
Just like cars today..Where did the chrome and color go?!? When I was a kid TV was black and white, but the cars were color. Now we have TV in HD color, But the cars are black and white! 🤷♂️
As for someone wanting a city commuter, These are perfect and it's a "real bike", not a "scooter"! But it wIll get scooter like MPGs if you don't push it! I love Rebels! (and I'm 6'1" 220 Lbs!) LOL.
I bought two 1986 Rebels brand new. The first one was destroyed when a drunk driver parked on top of it two months after I bought it. Unfortunately, I was riding it at the time.
They are great bikes to ride I had a cmx 250 converted to single seat loved it gave it to a guy his car burnt and I gave him the bike but he passed away never used it they had a starter problem my son sent a pic of it it's a bit of a mess but Im going to get it back if I can and do it up make it look new again when people heard it coming they though it was a big Harley but we're shocked to see the bike but it looks good too that red bike is a real credit to the woman keeping it like that and yes worth heaps for an old bike mine was a 1986 has mods and mod plates fitted when I brought it for 1100 Aus dollars done up I would get 5000 to 6000 maybe more
I have an 85 Rebel that I ride and love. Same color but I'm working on the rust on the spokes and some other parts of the chrome. Any tips please share...thanks love your rebel she's BEAUTIFUL
My mother has a black 86 450cc rebel that she's garage kept for about 18 years now. it has 13 thousand miles on it and will need some clean up for sure... but she was experienced when she got this and took great care of it. Anyone have any clue what its worth?
I have a 2005 rebel 250 and it doesn’t stay running unless. I keep the choke on almost the whole way. Had all kinds of work done to it and now I am having problems any suggestions? On what I can try to fix it? Thanks
