@@vpnMentor My PIA blew up and I couldn't log in or get a refund! No phone support, no email support! I told them couldn't sign on and tried dozens of times to reset password but nothing worked! Got idiot email that told me to sign in and resync with the server??? Totally stole my money and didn't care to help! Also, I tested it and was shown it leaked? Also, internet was 4 times slower using PIA than when it was turned off? They can all go to hell? Need to find a real VPN company with a good product?

@@vpnMentor Thank you so much for your reply. I had already found your website the same day I wrote the original comment (about a week ago). Thanks to all the information and reviews you provided there, I went with NordVPN. For anyone interested: What I liked most was their speed, *_audited_* "no log" policy (and being in Panama can't be forced by future U.S. regulation to change), and success rate at circumventing regional restrictions. I also like their Double VPN options. Their support page chat uses an "answer bot" that is pretty accurate. I haven't needed to speak/chat to a live person yet. So, I can't speak to that. All in all, I've been very happy with Nord so far.

Yes, you can toggle it on and off without having to sign out or reset your network adapter. Torrent was the main reason I first subscribed, but now I have it on all the time. As long as you live within 200 / 300 miles of a server, speed is never an issue. Even if you're not that close, as long as your internet connection is solid then even furthest server from your location will let you stream video just fine.

Hi Liselle, Just so I know what you're doing, did you click on the "Advanced Options" during set up? If you know your local port # you can enter it there, other just leave it blank and it will be auto entered for you

It won't matter, it's as if you were traveling to the UK, you'll still receive the codes to your phone number :) New IPs many time trigger an alert, but actually if you keep using the same phone and pc it should be enough for facebook and google. and I'm writing it from personal experience ;)

This is a great question. The short answer is No. The long answer is (send this to him): 1. Find a working VPN. Some hotels have it, or a friend of yours might have it on his mobile, and can give you access point (hot spot). 2. Access PIA via this vpn 3. sign up, install and you'll be able to access from your own device

How about in China?

Same answer :) You can either find a hotel that already has a VPN and connect to their network to be able to access PIA website, or you can use the mobile data of a person you know who already has a VPN (via personal hotspot) to connect to the internet and same process :)

vpnMentor When I speak with pia support they say they will not do again to work with Netflix. If they work, it will be by chance. There is one VPN called windscribe that makes an active effort to make Netflix available.

When you use a VPN it gives you a new IP. My guess it NordVPN changes the IP addresses which takes an effort sometimes. PIA doesn't do that so when the IP is blocked by Netflix then you can't use it.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with them, did you check with customer support, perhaps it was an issue with the specific you were connected to and simply changing servers or locations would help speed it along.

Are you having internet connection issues when the VPN isn't on? One thing you should try is connecting to a different server and seeing if that helps. If you're still having issues, you should contact their customer service team and they should be able to give more specific help

You just got EVERYTHING wrong. ISPs in 99% of the free world allow VPN connections. Lots of people who work from home need to use a VPN to access their company's network. With the correct paperwork, even China allows VPN use for employees of large international corporations like General Motors, Coca-Cola, etc. If they didn't, those companies would no longer have a presence in China because international communication is required. The government (again 99% of the free world) has restrictions on things that some people MAY do while connected to a VPN (wire fraud, torrents, drug markets, weapons, etc), but just using a VPN is not a crime. Saving the best of your disinformation for last....VPN providers may be able to see where you've been before logs are purged (usually about every 5 to 20 minutes if not every second), but they have nothing to gain by turning their customers over to "the feds". They have a financial interest in clearing as much personally identifying data as fast as they can, and don't have the time or motivation to spy on their customers. Their business model absolutely DEPENDS on destroying traceable, personally identifying information. Whatever illegal activities their customers are involved in, governments can't obtain data that doesn't exist. You really should do some research into how things work before posting such inaccurate conjectures based off your personal paranoia.
