I am an RN in Canada and I was always curious to know the salaries in the UK. Thanks for sharing. You seem like a very down to earth person, so keep up the good work.
Nice one Becca! I'm coming over to UK next year n I'll like to work in a care home, please tell a good nursing specialties in a care home. I really like anaesthetic nursing but I learnt I have to work in NHS before having access to it
@@abahesther3994 It depends if you are from EU, etc after a Year, you can ask the Human resources department on through your Ward manager to start the course sometimes its funded by your Employer, especially in nhs:Any speciality, Diabetes management, Gerontology, infection control etc
Thanks for this video.... Sorry, I had to make this comment. I don't think the difference is this wide. In this video, you've worked a total of 294.5hrs to get paid £4144. But i work a total of 150/160hrs to get paid approximately £2000... So, I guess you're just increasing the hrs you've done or doubling up. Let's not forget you're in London where the salary is higher than other parts. What I'm just saying is the rate at which you're being paid is not significantly higher, it's the number of hrs that's made the difference here. It's just so people can understand better. But generally, care homes pay slightly better than the NHS sha. Thanks for the great video sis, looking forward to more. I'm a new follower😍
True. Plus you are working permanent nights so your hourly rate will be higher for unsocial hours. Your pension contribution is also a lot less than compared to NHS pension deductions. It is true that there aren’t many roles in nhs that have permanent night roles available but not impossible. It’s good that you found a job that’s suits your needs. It would be interesting to compare an NHS band 6 night worker in london and see how much they get paid. It’s so refreshing and honest to have you discuss your salary and how much you get paid. Most people shy away from discussing it!!
Hello! New subscriber here! May I know the comparison of the workload between care home and NHS? I'm kinda torn between the two, but salary wise I think I'm choosing to work in a care home. However, I'm still hesitant because I heard that the workload is heavy as compared to the NHS. Thank you for this video! ❤
On paper it looks alot but after living expenses it's not that much. 244 is alot of hours to work per calendar month which averages out as 61 hours per week, Becca needs to be careful she doesn't suffer from burnout.
@@beccabaetv , l think you should take Gambrey Hewwert seriously. It is great you are making lots of money, which l hope it is short term because you have got to think about your health long term. I normally stay behind after work finishing my paperwork sometimes l will be there for hours. My manager approached me yesterday and advised me to make sure l dont stay behind too long as I am likely to have a burn out if l carry on doing so. There have been stories around people over working because of the things they want to do back home.So please my dear fellow Ghanaian sister look after yourself. We have your interest at heart x
How much for a shared apartment in London? Girl that's a lot of money for anyone. The average pay in the UK is 3600 or so. That converts into a lot in most countries. What is the maximum I can work for so that I don't get taxed over the 20% income tax? I wanna aim for $5000 -6000 per month. What percentage of income tax will be deducted. Also if my hours aren't fixed how would I know what my income bracket is? Thank you.
Average shared house is between £500 -£650 in London. Watch my tax video for detailed explanation of income and tax in uk ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_l-4AMxcmlQ.html
@@beccabaetv my wife is a nurse here in the Uk working in a hospital as a permanent job and she is paid £28 per hr, care house/ nursing homes pay as high as £35-£40 for nurse as a permanent staff. If you are being paid £19 as a nurse then you are underpaid. I’m just making you to be aware and do your findings.
@@michaelstark9310 what is your wife’s position in the hospital? If she gets the high rate per hour, she must have higher position. The vlogger’s rate/per hour is for band 5. What your wife’s?
Hello dear, since you were able to try life of UK rn in different aspect. I want to here a n advise on how should we do it when we get there, like first work in nga for how long then transfer to a care home???
Hello Rebecca. Good job. I want to ask that for someone who has no experience as a nurse and wants to work as a caregiver in that organization u work in. Will it be possible to apply as a caregiver and be employed.
Amy experience was in Saudi Arabia I was a nurse in Emergency department for 5 yrs. Do you advise for me to work in nga or it’s better to go straight to a care home?
Not necessarily, London band 5 nurse gets £16.73 per hour normally, nights it's ×1.30 so £21.749 of you do 12 hour shift nights 5 days PA = 67800 ish, put that into salary calculator and you get monthly take home pay (after all deductions) = £ 4,156. Let's not forget the weekends extra as well 30%, so if you do weekend nights, that 1.6 times basic pay, so your weekend nights pay rate would be £26.768 and plenty of agency nursing that pay minimum £35 per hour
How do you apply directly to private care homes .Do have anywhere (link) you can connect someone who is looking for sponsorship by a carehomes or a private hospital?
If u are overseas use trac jobs for NHS and indeed, Reed or cv library for private but remember to ask for COS from the private cuz nor all of them provide that
Happy to hear that. Are you working alone in a home care? Could you please talk more of your other benefits in home care. How long is your vacation,is it paid?
That's a lot of shifts you have to do to accumulate that many hours. That's 5 days of 12hrs shift. It's not easy. Definitely nursing home nurses are paid better than the NHS nurses.
@@beccabaetv true.. after getting into nursing, if all that you care about is "coins" then definitely you are doing the right thing.. 😉👏👏 Good luck with that..
Hi Auntie Becca😊 Good to hear from you and see you again 🤩 Keep up the good job. Can you tell me or us the name of your private nursing home and probably other private homes that are recruiting from overseas... thanks
Even nurse practitioners do 37 hrs a week and go home with 3700 plus. There are areas of nursing that need to be explored that pay well, nurse prescribers etc.. However UK nurses still don't earn more then US and Canadian colleagues.
Hi becca I’m currently on student visa but am an RN international.. i want you to tell me whether i can be working part time with Agencies as a healthcare assistant? If yes can u name me agencies?
Yes I think u can work 20hrs a week. I don't know ur location but there are loads of agencies. Put ur credentials on CV-Library and potential agencies will get to u in no time
@@Berzerkerx99 Is better for you to go for permanent and do just 20hrs week during school time. It will help you get sponsorship after student visa. Agency won't help you at all.
Thank you very much for this am inspired... (1)is a care home same as nursing home? (2)am a midwife can I work in a nursing/ care home? (3) please am about writing my CBT... Which CBT should I go for ( nursing or midwifery CBT).
U need midwifery cbt if u don't have a nursing certificate to support your application for adult nursing during nmc application. Midwives do not work in nursing/care homes
@@beccabaetv from my observation it seems all about money. Night shift is more money and easier especially in a care home. Nurse because you love your work because sick people need to be cared for. It is not always about money.
@@lonalis4224 we live a life where everyone is entitled to what they choose to talk about and do things that make them happy. I don't know the field u work in, but why do u work apart from ur love for ur job?? If u think money is not important then consider being a voluntary worker or better still open a youtube channel and explain to the world why no one should be paid for what they do Because opening a youtube channel is that easy 😉 thanks for watching sweetheart 😉 😊
