This guy knows most of the required information but man he does not know when to stop talking! A stickler DPE can definitely expose the his knowledge on lesser known topics if they wanted to.
@@logannfullerton5601That’s not the point. You’re supposed to answer the question and nothing more. If you talk too much for a single answer, the DPE can continue digging on that topic to find your weak points.
Kudos to the student and the amount of humility that takes to be recorded when you don’t know every answer. I’m hoping you’ve since learned all those things and passed your private or beyond.
55:11 Gets better! The video that keeps on giving! lol… He said there’s no Temperature Gauge in his Cessna! 🤣🤣🤣 This video is great! 🤣 by the way, thank you for leaving all the extra content in. It does help a lot of people, and especially kids like this one. it was so funny when they both spoke about rambling, and as soon as that conversation was over, the kid began to ramble again! 🤣🤣🤣 Great job on this practice checkride!
Glad you liked the extra content. The point of these videos is to show the process, not a perfectly polished pilot. We're hoping to give insight to the realities of becoming a pilot to help people in their own journeys to become pilots. Thanks for the comment Louie.
Awesome video, here's Things to be very careful on the day of your cheakride as student don't talk more be very specific and short in your answers if the examiner ask u what is 1+1 all you should say is 2 and stop there' don't try to dig up hole for your self, let the examiner do the talking otherwise he or she gonna ask more and more questions and then 😳 things will turn south from there not gonna be good for u 😂 if you don't know the answer say I'm not sure then You can look it up let'm know where to find it
I’ve also heard the other side though. If you know or feel confident in a certain area, show them that you know and are confident. If all you say is the bare minimum, they might feel the need to keep asking more individual questions. If you whip out a complete explanation of how weather fronts work, I guarantee they will probably leave that topic alone after that.
Had my mock oral on Friday 9/6. Lead instructor went through the beefy parts of the ACS. Did surprisingly well. Only downside was weather... I was mixing stuff around.
Based on his answers, I feel confident to pass the oral test. Considering that English is not my first language. On top of that, I’m taking the check ride with an actual FAA inspector.
Big rain isn’t a terrible guess for BR but once you have heard baby rain theres no mistaking it for mist! Just like the mitochondria is the powder house of the cell
This is a DPE’s dream. I’d fail this guy in a heartbeat to show him a bit of humility. Easy $$$ coming your way for his lack of knowing when to shut up.
A little less talking and more listening to the questions. Also, stop cutting the DPE off when he's talking. Just straight forward answers to the questions that are asked of you 😊
Good video but in the future I think we’d appreciate less cuts, I’d rather sit through a few seconds of filler than have 50 cuts throughout the video, but anyways great video and keep up the great work!!!
Min 51. Why not request the option? Good video I have my checkride in a month I have catch I few things I didn’t know like PoH section 5 what kind of altitude we have in the charts and registrations card is now 7 years
Great video! I think it’s important to show these kinds of checkrides where the student is a little out of their depth/unprepared. It’s always good to know what to do, but it’s equally important to know what not to do. Kudos to the student for trying this best. I’m sure it was extremely stressful getting grilled while trying to talk his way out of it. He definitely needs more preparation, but it takes a lot of courage to agree to be filmed and let it be released for everyone to comment on!
These days, 2024, Can a student plan his trip and do calculations for wt, balance ect on fore flight? I have seen several mock exams where the student is making changes to wt. balance, checking weather real-time and sharing his iPad back and for the with examiner when discussing his flight plan, yet read an FAA notice saying no computer chips, on the exam? Thanks
questions, to be a flight instructor. Does the flight instructor who is building their hours flying also have to teach ground class and give oral exams like this one to the students or is another teacher or does the flight instructor have to teach all of this as well.
It's typically a mix of classroom teaching, online ground school, and depending on the flight school environment the instructor may or may not be the same person teaching the classroom setting.
Never say that "you don't know" always say "you know I'm not sure let me look that up for you" you should always know where to find anything they ask.@@tylers6985
