People in India do touch face with powder too. But it isn't something creepy or mysterious. In Holi, you initially don't let anyone let you color. It is like a tease game. So to color the person, we often use powder and apply it on their face. Once everyone is done teasing and coloring, everyone dance, drink thandai and go crazy.

Even if it is powder, it is usually applied directly to face (by touching) in the regular Holi on the streets that we play. I think this would be because throwing would mean no control. It can go in the other person's eyes or similar things could happen. The reason why you have always seen flying colors is because the movie people choose to show it that way to make it look beautiful on the camera.

Throwing colors is dangerous because it could go inside your eyes. People only do it in the movies, otherwise, we touch a person's face.

I think the reason they didn't get powder is because the Holi powder we use is very pigmented. If they went for the authentic stuff they'd both be pink faced for a few days :P Also I agree with Achara, it is VERY VERY messy

Bro in Holi....in India all peoples touch each other face and put colours on face and there is nothing creepy if someone touch someone face in India especially at time of Holi because this is the way that how indian plays Holi and that colors are known as gulaal and we can put colors to someone else and if we r playing water Holi we can put water on someone else and in India we Indians play holi in group only to make everyone there happy, bring joy and enjoy Holi🙂😄🇮🇳🇮🇳

Its all the same thing....weed is when u roll it up cannabis with tobacco and vape away and bhang is the same thing only u make a paste out of it first. Marijuana is the local name for cannabis

Cannabis is the name of the plant, marijuana is the medical name of the drug and weed is the street name.The buds and leaves from the plant are grounded into paste known as Bhang. PS correct me if I am wrong.

Even with coloured powder we do touch faces lol we tease, run away from each other when friends try to colour our faces! We run because most of the times the colour stays on ! u have to touch the face and put color thats the tradition. plus u can spray with a holi spraygun as well...and u can also throw color filled balloons. bt the most decent way to play holi is using hand to put color on someone's face. :)

It's really old hindu festival, we used to play holi with natural colour made by using colorful flowers a plant called padas (marathi name) which acts like medicine for your skin but now those colours are replaced by the chemical ones, so I recommend you to play holi with dry colours not wet one...... Actually its a two day festival on day one we do the holy rituals and pooja and prayers for victory of good over bad and have some festival food and then on day 2 we play colours........

That was 'gulaal', which actually is the colored powder used during holi, that wasn't paint, he just referred to it as paint cz he didn't know what else to call it.

One doesn't necessarily throw powder. You can apply the powder on the face too. So one can touch someone's face when applying powder. So maybe they got paint to avoid the mess
