PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a laser vision correction procedure similar to LASIK but it has a slower and more uncomfortable recovery. PRK was the first laser eye surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightnesss, and astigmatism, but LASIK became more popular due to the quicker return of vision.

I might be so lucky for having a soft pain for only two hours after the PRK surgery and being normal right after that, now I’m on my 2nd week and my vision is better but still needs to be better. Thanks be to Allah.

Had mine 3 days ago. All fine so far. Slight little burning and watering badly sometimes. Does feel like something in your eyes but got better today( 3rd day). Contact bandage still in and gets removed in couple days. Can notice eyesight better but still blurry as my eye heals.

I had been using glasses from my childhood my doctor decided PRK for me which was more subtle for me Finley did PRK 8 days ago everything is fine now I am happy made the right decision never be afraid to take a step it hurts like a bitch but it's worth it.

I'm on my day 5 of prk, now i can driver without problem, i never had any light sensation, i had a big double vision on day 2, it was gone on day 3. On day 2-3 i had a pain that i never experienced in my life, i mean i couldn't even sleep i only slept 2 hours first day and 3 hours second day the pain was unsupportable for me. From day 1 at night to day 4 at night i couldn't even open my eyes, did you see when someone cut onion next to you and your eyes starts to close automatically? i was like that for 4 days i couldn't even open them for 4 seconds, anyway now i feel great :)

I had my PRK yesterday and I have felt no pain or irritation at all. Sometimes I get a headache and my eyes are a bit blurry but other than that its fine

You are lucky, when I had this done it was the worse pain I have ever had. I would rather pass a kidney stone. My recovery took over a week I'm not sure if my diagnosis of reis buckler corneal dystrophy had impact on the length of my recovery.

Is it normal that the epithelium cells hasn't healed for more than two weeks in one of the eyes, while the other has healed in 4 days?

Today is day 4: my vision is very blurry. I had nervous breakdown . This explained why this happened. Day 1- was clear vision . Day 2 and most of 3 - was my old vision . Towards end of day 3 , I noticed the blurring. I’m hoping tomorrow it will get better

Yes month 6 ---I feel great ! Vision is perfect . No issues at all . I would say that it took 7 days for me to return to work and about 1 month to be completely back to normal

@@are2842 no pain but very bad discomfort. Like pain level was 2/10. Discomfort was 8/10. It’s like sitting in an uncomfortable chair for 5 days straight

I just had PRK 4 days ago and I am miserable. I can't see much of anything. Everything is so blurry. Thankfully the pain has subsided. Lasik was so much easier. Hopefully I'll be able to see soon so I can get back to work.

@@leonelguembes9957 bro now it was almost 4 months. Now I'm able to see nicely with 98% of vision and it is getting better day by day. Hope you'll get the same results. Prk is having slow recovery time but it is giving good results finally. Now my vision is 98% corrected waiting for the remaining 2%.

I had watched all of his vlogs and was scheduled for prk myself. However, my eyes are very dry and they gave me restasis samples to use but it burned my eyes quite a bit. I've had dry eye for years, never Feeling dry but, could not wear hard or soft contacts anymore. I have a MASSIVE astignatism, and was told prk was the only option for me because of this. However, my eyes feel dry allot lately, Not sure why. I'm worried that my dry eye problem will worsen after prk. I'm a red head too.

From what I understand it can take up to 6 months to regain full vision. I’m on week 2 and still have blurry vision in my right eye. I guess it’s different for everyone. Good luck and don’t try to stress too much. I’m sure it will heal soon.

Hi Dr, my eyes are very dry after surgery and now at week 2 feel like even with punctal plugs they're still dry blurry and have do next halos. All lights are blurry because of this. Is Restasis the only cure? It's very expensive. I also gets oils and ointments work.

for job purpose PRK is best. corneal thickness is good after surgery. but if don't want any pain go to LASIK its pain less during and after surgery, but in PRK no pain during surgery but after 1-2 days it gives pain to ur eye like somebody thrown sand in ur eyes , but after there it's oke and recovery time is more , I got 6/6 vision in 10days after PRK . Cost :40000₹
