PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a laser vision correction procedure similar to LASIK but it has a slower and more uncomfortable recovery. PRK was the first laser eye surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightnesss, and astigmatism, but LASIK became more popular due to the quicker return of vision.
