Geez, I can't adequately express my gratitude for this channel.

Not quite the Varner anymore I used to know in terms of unforced errors, but one can still see why he has always been considered one of the most intelligent and creative players. Interesting to see he doesn't dare stick to his soft break once his opponent's on the hill - natural impulse to want to wack them with one's back to the wall, I guess. Immonen is his usual solid (and still youthful) self, of course. Thanks for uploading this!

Watching these, helps me with our play as a team in APA! I am the captain of the team and have chances of calling time outs to help my players win. Varner made some shots that just didnt help him and could have taken an easier rout. That is y i call time outs for my players on team. GREAT MATCH TO WATCH TY :)

He was questioning a rule that normally is in effect during tournament play and that is for it to be a succesful and legal break, that 3 balls have to pass the head string after the break. It prevents someone from soft breaking.

It's too bad we're never going to see a match-up of today's young guns with the legends of the past at their best - IMHO, nobody played better all-around pool than Varner in his prime (of course Efren Reyes springs to mind, but he's no spring chicken anymore either).
@CarlCramer88

Pool doesn’t have that nitty gritty it had back in the day. It’s more of a watered down family activity in my opinion. Little to no pool halls, no road players, no real money games, can’t find any pool played on tv anymore. It’s basically dead or close to it. The pool hall in my city is basically a high school social hangout. People play but little play on a serious level or really want to get better. They just hangout around the table to socialize. Too each their own but I wish pool would come back and be played and taken seriously like it once was but I feel them days are long gone. Rack ‘em up!

i agree, for someone with so much experience he shouldn't have to be thinking so much. the patterns should be more automatic by now. also they should have a shot clock 30 or 40 seconds.
@drewfla
@drewfla 15 лет назад
I agree, I don't like Incardona either for the same reason. "Notice how he brought the cue ball around the 7 in order to get the proper angle on the 5 into the bottom left hand corner. It was imperative that he get the right angle on the 5 in order to go back up table for the 6. Very good shot." Dude, shut up! The people who watch billiards understand enough, we don't need a 30 second analysis of every damn shot. I like Danny a lot, he's funny =)

@ashleysdad1 Actually, the other guy was simply agreeing with the first guy as in "no doubt you're right". If you look at the context of his gasping as the ball is rolling, it's clear that that's what he means. No disagreement there.

Man, I about fell over when Nick missed the combination. For all of you players, young or old, remember no one makes every shot. Nobody wins them all. Even the very best screw up from time to time. So, don't worry about it. Play your game the very best you can. Play other players that you know are better than you. Don't be afraid to try the impossible. Efren Reyes is a prime example. He does things that others would not attempt. To me, he is the best. Now, what I need to do is follow my own advice lol. Thank you. Mike Pardue 🎱
@CarlCramer88
@CarlCramer88 2 года назад
Play conservative. Conservative always has the best chance. You start to venture out and try the “impossible” you’ll be the champ at losing. You try the “impossible” when your practicing or just fucking around. Not in a match that’s worthy of something.

Down 4 0, and the 2 ball is straight in, and Danny says, he's not going for this, Wtf? For league players that 2 ball is easy, A HOF player like Nick, it's a piece of cake, wish the Announcers would just be quiet

Danny second-guesses the players a little too much. Billy Incardona does a much better job at explaining the table and entertaining the viewers. Also, Jim Wych's Canadian accent is so obnoxious, with the twirled vowels.
