Had to come back and leave a comment. I’ve had this air purifier for over 2 weeks now and it’s amazing. My whole downstairs smells fresh and clean. It cools the rooms down too. My sons have even noticed a difference. This thing works. I have it running 24/7 with ioniser on and set at number 3 speed. I used to use plugin air fresheners. I don’t need them anymore. It’s honestly the best £100 I’ve spent this year. Going to get another for upstairs too. I’m just wondering how often do you need to change filters and can you vacuum them?

Excellent review, I'll be watching out for your work in future. I just bought one of these without having previously seen your review. Thankfully I don't have buyers remorse. Following on from your suggestion about taking off the front cover; I went one stage further and put the unit on its back. It seems to work much better at least in terms of clearing the dust which I can see floating in the air. My bedroom is 192 square feet and I have a real dust problem. When the sun is shining through the window I can see the airborne dust particles slowly moving towards the purifier. After about 20 minutes the air was almost completely clear. It had been on for most of the previous day in its standard orientation without getting anywhere close to being this effective. I suspect that in its standard orientation the output blast is blowing all the airborne dust vertically before it ever has a chance to be sucked onto the filter. I have a theory that with the output blast coming out low-down, horizontally and the filter sucking downwards there is a much simpler room air cycle taking place. With the cover on sucking from the sides and blowing upwards it's just chaos. The downsides are: it takes up much more space and the blue filter is pretty ugly. I'm going to try and find some kind of white porous fabric to lie over the filter to make it look less terrible. Maybe a Jay Cloth type material? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I just bought one. My son sneakily smokes in his room and it really smells everywhere. I spent days researching and finally settled on this. I just wanted to ask. What does the ioniser actually do? Had so much conflicting information. Btw I’ve seen some with really awful cadr.

Hi I have had this air purifier for around a year, and last night the timer button started flashing and wouldn't stop. It won't stop when I press it or any other buttons. I have also tried unplugging and turning it off. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi Alan, how to know if the hepa filter and carbon filter are genuine? Im considering a puremate pm 510 however you use a blueair.

Considering purchasing this unit. Very helpful review. It definitely helped with evaluating, interpreting, and understanding the specs, especially the points you made about differences among the settings with relation to noise levels, db, and size of room. Actually, I am adding one question here. Maybe a silly question. What happens to the function if you leave the door open to the room? Is the air purifying based on closing the door to the room?

I have this thing. Its a waste of time.

Just get one. Seriously. It is so great. When I visited my parents this weekend the room I stay for visit smelled like onions and body odour when I entered it, no one knows where the God damn smell came from. I let the filter run for an hour on max with the ion generator on and the smell was gone. I also use it for vaping indoors. I went to a friend and we vaped like crazy and the room got a little bit cloudy. We then turned it off for 5 minutes and the room turned so foggy that it was hard to see the door. We turned it back on and stopped vaping for 15 minutes, and all of it was completely gone. PS: you can get a 30% discount till the end of the year directly from their website. So if you want one, now is the time!

Just ordered one of these. I’ll be leaving the ioniser off also until I can find out how much ozone is being produced. As of yet I can’t find any sources where they’ve tested the ozone produced.
