@@bacon_n_meggs2837 it's true! But I still always felt embarrassed about my special interests when I was younger even when someone else was interested because there was a part of my brain being like "no you need to be ashamed of how nerdy you are!".
I feel like Priya’s parents are just so super proud of her every time she is filming an episode. They’re like “wow, look at my daughter, she’s amazing,” and just really excited to be a part of her life/ career. It’s super cute 😭
V D Losing a business you and your husband poured your love and life savings over will create some form of depression. With BA she can get paid to explore different fusion cuisine that she hopes to use when she and Ham are ready to open a new restaurant. Hail Mary was one of the best neo-American diners in Brooklyn. She lost Hail Mary because she was a brown woman making American Diner without any Bengalese flair (according to GQ). Failing because of prejudice and double standards has to be painful, because it’s beyond your control.
Me: Oh cool! Freezer meals - I've got a bunch of random things in my freezer. *watches the chefs pull out white wine, homemade shrimp broth, corn mushrooms* Me: Umm....
Can “Out of Control” be Sohla’s show... taking regular dishes and making them experimental? “Out of Control Carbonara with Sohla...” “Out of Contol Tacos with Sohla...” EDIT- PAY SOHLA! EDIT- IT CAME TRUE
Hotdogs are a good protein and you can find some pretty good quality ones without a bunch of crap in them. Cheap buys too because they'll be BOGO for $3.99 and then have $2 off stickers when they get ready to expire......so they're free quite frequently and you can fill the freezer with them
when we were outta food my mom would slice the hotdog in half, wrap it in a corn tortilla, and deep fry it. It’s still one of my favorite ways to use random stuff in the fridge
@@JoseRamirez-fi2nf growing up my mom was obsessed with healthy eating, she rarely made us hotdogs, she would serve the nopales she had growing in the backyard instead lol :( i never thought a hotdog taco could be a possibility. This has opened my mind
@@Tytytytyty1776 the way her husband was like "you are out of control" lol! Tbh i think it looked delicious and i will definitively try it (without the mayo)
Sohla, I am so saddened to hear that you and the other POC aren't being compensated for your time making so much enjoyable content! This is my favourite channel on youtube and it's only because of all the passion that you all bring to the table, and I hope that you guys are able to get what you deserve for your time and efforts! We stand behind you Andy, Christina, Gaby, Priya, Rick, and Sohla! Thank you, Carla and Molly, for standing up with your test kitchen family, and hopefully the other members are going to stand with you all in solidarity!
You should do a secret santa type episode where each chef sends another one a surprise instacart order and they have to make a meal using all the items
Wow okay all I have to say is no one going to talk about the fact Andy is actually ~glowing~?? He's beautiful. Even if he is eating ice cream every night still (no hate I have a marg casi cada noche) quarantine is looking good on him.
Fefo that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. But we’re going to celebrate Sohla here (on this comment dedicated to positivity) because she’s often overlooked and underrated!
Yes!! I want them all back asap but only if they are compensated as they deserve to be. When I found out none of them were being paid for all of the videos I've enjoyed over the past year, I just couldn't believe it! It was a truly sickening revelation.
Maayyyyybe she should negotiate instead of making wild unfounded claims that that they're being treated differently because of their race and not the contributions to the channel. Its called negotiations.
my front right burner is the workhorse, I sometimes worry that It'll wear out faster somehow if I use it so much compared to the others? Does that happen to stoves? idk. and the back two could have broken a year ago and I would be none the wiser, I use them so little.
@@Emperorhirohito19272 Yeah, if it was smooth space it would almost be better because it would be easier to clean when I want to set stuff back there like a lid or whatever (I'm 6'2", so I'm not like, going to graze my arm on a hot pan)
Carla is just dope. I first watched the Back to Back with Markiplier and that's what got me on this channel. She reminds me of my mom when she had more energy and it's awesome. She's up there with Brad ahah.
i feel like even tho priya's parents know she's a professional chef, they're still always shocked when she makes food that tastes good lol. like, "oh, wow, this is _actually_ really good even though we know you get paid to cook for a living we are still surprised that you're good at it." but, like, in a loving way.
I've loved all the *cough*recurring guest stars*cough* family members, but Priya's parents are fabulous. Love her mom hovering! But I wanted to see her taste! (partly because Priya's mom is straight-up gorgeous /o\)
Gabby is always the only one who sticks to the actual challenge! She used actual frozen foods, rather than using fancy ingredients that others prep and freeze themselves. We see and appreciate you, Gabby
Not just that, but I feel like no-one has acknowledged how great her decor is. I just LOVE her kitchen, it's beautiful but not in a try-hard way. She could be an interior designer.
@@DIFMDCCCXCI Oh, haha, I was worried not everyone would get that. Thing is, in Andy's vids lately he never mentioned where he was filming as some chefs did. Also, he has been talking really quietly, and sorta acting a little stealthy, perhaps? So there is this whole conspiracy/running joke in the Comments (and also the BA notations) that it was so mysterious, and some folks commented that maybe when the Lockdown began he broke into a house and was staying there on the QT. Then, in his vid before this one, you could see a man coming in the door in the background but it was edited out quickly. I joked in those Comments that he and his little dog had been discovered by "his housemate/plaintiff." It might be a bit subtle or offbeat humor, but hopefully you might understand a bit, now. 😊
Oh let me tell you about burger patty with rice, or chicken nuggets with rice. It's like fried egg and rice. You can't go wrong. Why rice? Because asian. Maybe toast will do fine too.
At some point in the process (maybe the sesame oil) I stopped trying to understand what those tacos would taste like. I believe that they're probably really good, but it's such a weird creation I'd have to actually taste it to know.
The sleeper revelation of this video is Amiel's use of an English muffin as the bun for a burger. All those nooks and crannies holding onto all that special sauce. Brilliant.
I like Amiel, but I can remember him ever making anything that looked appetizing to me, this included. The parts make sense; meat and cheese on a Thomas: sure. The visual: nope, hard pass.
sohla gives me hope for the future like she’s just living her life at a cool job making delicious foods trying new things and living with her adorable SO
Sohla is my favorite omg I feel like her meals are the only ones I can actually make and they're always so freaking good UPDATE: I made Andy's peas and they were so goooood!
In Mexico, we actually have an amazing street food called “salchitacos”, which are hotdogs wrapped in corn tortillas, chopped in bite sized pieces and deep fried and they’re served with ketchup and crema, so kudos to Sohla
i really want to see a “what i eat in a week” video by each of these people! i wonder what chefs actually cook for themselves when no one is looking or they don’t have instructions for a video.
Rick coughing while cooking with the serranos he added, means the foods gonna be good. I don't make up the rules. Coughing when cooking with chiles = delicious spicy comidas
That was easily the most delicious meal in this video. I'm vegan, and I don't normally miss eating meat, but I really wanted that fried rice. It looked so good. Meanwhile, watching Rick put things in his mouth. *dies*
