Good stuff. That said, I think a lot of cyclists who have other priorities (work, family, school) would be do better to spend the hour or so time of a "recovery ride" by just sleeping more or using the time to reduce other stress in life. If you have a lot of time, sure, have at it. Or if the recovery ride can be mixed with something else - an easy commute, a ride with kids in the park, OK. But if you're busy and the next day is normal training, I'd advise using the time in another way. Or if you really feel you have to ride, do 20 minutes on a trainer to loosen up.

Love this content, it’s so useful! As a hobbyist who doesnt own a power meter, seeing the times for recovery rides was super insightful

I’m with Tyler on the days off. Unless I’m like -15, I only take a recovery ride day and not a day off. If I take a day off, it take me a couple days to get my legs moving again and it screws up the rest of the week.

I've read the same about keytones - better for recovery vs race. When do you / Tyler usually take them? I've read before bed and after a session, but when you're not given them for free (Jumbo) that's pricy for both! Have youEJ or Tyler noticed a difference if you do after the ride or before bed?
@alexgonzalezMI
@alexgonzalezMI Месяц назад
I would believe that. I noticed that I need to take 16 grams of keystones for them to work for performance but I can get better recovery and be mentally stronger with 5-6.
@mstrasser
@mstrasser Месяц назад
@@alexgonzalezMI Yeah I've felt that too especially since hard rides are burning carbs. and if I'm not mistaken, the Keytone IQ servings are 10g. With that said though, if I'm doing a long ride, I will still take one before...

Im a beginner. Just started riding sorta seriously about a year ago. I have a power meter for outside and Zwift for inside. I guess my biggest question is how do you hold the same power consistently? Like on Zwift I can just ERG and I'm solid. But I go for a ride, and it feels impossible. My power numbers just swing so wildly. How do I stay in a zone?

Hi everyone!!!! As everybody knows, I am the inventor of the the modern cycling training we have today. And I was one of the first people to ever tell. Trina road and every single training cycling platform that 90% of cyclists are fatigued. That they do not know how to recover And keep fatiguing themselves not allowing for them to see their full potential. I am the first one to ever mention these things. I don't even think Tyler had a bike. They don't call me the God of speed for nothing. I have developed a series of intervals to actually Target fatiguedness. Yes, it's true there is a way to recover using intervals. This is how advanced I am and I'm always a step ahead of every single training platform that exists on this planet. I am cycling training and it's future. There is nothing else.
