They look like Besta units from Ikea. There are some wonderful doors from laquered to different textures. You can have functionalstorage and make them look so sculptural with lights too.

Jojo Jo, they can use the kitchen island as an eating surface as opposed to getting a dining table.

I think she should have got one of those coffee tables that can become a dining table. But yeah I noticed that. There is no p lace really to do paper work, eat, crafts or whatever while seated. The island doesn't work and isn't that big really. I have seen small place before but I agree though aesthetics isimportant sofas and beds with better storage ie lift up bed or storage in the sofa and or ottoman is smarter and more practical Pull out drawers actually are difficult in small places as there is little floor room. I like the minimalist look but it isn't too practical - a bit more stoage is required and eating area. I agree with the poster about the cute or little office. An ottoman (which should be storage too) isnt comfortable for real work and where do you put your legs. A pull out desk would be better as the legs then coudl go under.

id remove that large sofa for a smaller 2 seater and have a proper desk

It isn't very pracical and dangerous. Great for tv but that large vase on a small island in a small space is an accident waiting to happen.
