No, he just thought that they were fictional characters because he’d see them everyday on tv. He never had permission to get out of his house until his quirk activated. His parents thought that their child would frame them, so he stayed home his entire 8 years. His parents also bought him a plushie of endeavor so he could have some fun at home.
