I suffered bullying for much of my life until high school, there are times when out of nowhere I remember the beatings and other abuse, and my blood boils. So I'm really proud that even if he didn't completely forgive him, Izuku can smile sweetly for Katsuki and be so positive.
As someone who was bullied a lot, physically and verbally, it’s something that stays with you. One apology does not redeem the bully, neither does it fix the damage done. I’m tired of people saying “well they apologized so it’s fine.” No, it’s not fine. Do not excuse that behavior just because they apologized. The person they bullied will NEVER be the same and won’t look at people the same.
I think I stand in support of Midoriya’s forgiveness because I have done and experienced the same thing. It's not just an apology. When the person who apologizes to me actually makes changes and makes efforts, and I am willing to establish a friendly relationship with him, I don't think there is anything wrong with that. It's like Bakugo actually started caring and trying to understand what Midoriya was thinking, fending off fatal injuries for him, and training with him, not to mention that they had a friendship before the bullying started, which makes the bullying even more painful At the same time, it has also become a link and opportunity to repair relationships. From my standpoint, I personally hate it when others describe Bakugou's behavior as "just a light apology" and I hate it when others regard Midoriya's thoughtful decision to forgive as rashness. Also, I'm sorry for what you're going through and I hope you're doing okay and all the best.
Compared to others that are really just "a light apology" or "I just want to arouse your interest and play with you" The person who formally apologized, made changes and made amends, instead allowed me to repair my trauma and re-examine the experience. This is a special experience, and I don’t expect everyone to understand it, but I want to stand in Midoriya’s shoes and explain to others what this experience feels like.
@@Doris_ENFP I can definitely see where you’re coming from. If the person who apologized makes changes to be better and grow as a person then I’m willing to at least attempt to be friendlier with them but it will definitely take a lot of time for them to earn that trust back. I know that isn’t the case for everyone but I do understand why Midoriya forgave him.
in the show he said "i know this doesnt change anything" so he clearly knew apologizing would do nothing but are you ok now? js know jesus, allah, or any other god or if your atheist your still loved no matter what so js keep pushing forward be like a firetruck at a red light and dont stop no matter what never give up
being attached to things like drama, angst, depressive movies are common and probably a result of having parents who argue all the time, or just growing up with drama around you. 👍
I do that at times too. For me it has to do with anxiety. Whenever I feel anxiety or awkward or embarrassed I smile. Just like the main character from Fire Force. I can't help it it's just, a thing that happens.
Now that you said it, I actually just noticed that I do actually look past it even though, like you, I was bullied for basically my entire life and I was also told to kill my self.(multiple times) Huh that’s weird
I was also bullied and even if it is in the past it still left a lot of damage to my mental health. so that’s why I can’t understand people who ship bakudeku. The past don’t just disappear with apologies.
Ok I get that bakugou did a lot of messed up stuff but why does no one talk about how All Might, the number one hero that everyone looks up to, told Izuku he can’t be a hero right after saving him from almost dying then leaving him on a rooftop alone?!
@@samihahossainjara3692 after Izuku risked his life for Bakugo. It could’ve went a completely different way if Izuku hadn’t come off the roof, it doesn’t matter if he helped eventually he left a traumatized child on a rooftop
@@samihahossainjara3692 yeah, he broke his dreams and left him in the perfect spot to kill himself and then came back and said “actually you can be a hero if you become my successor” I would have turned and left at that point.
I love how its not just 'everyone is shocked', but actually people who know him more, react more noticeably, like ofc they know him, so it would impact them more

From the perspective of someone who became friends with someone who bullied me and apologized to me (I wasn’t even friends with that person before this, unlike when they were kids), I think I have enough reasons to say that I fully support and respect Midoriya's right to choose to forgive Bakugo, and they do both work hard to re-establish a good relationship. It's not a frivolous "oh he apologized so I forgive him" but "Midoriya saw how hard he was trying to change his behavior and forgave him even before he apologized." Although I was bullied six times in different childhoods in different ways, maybe there is something wrong with me... (It may also be because of my anxiety, language difficulties and suspected autism haha)
I actually dont think the reason Bakugo bullied izuku is bc hes quickless i think it was bc he wanted to protect him from danger but just wont admit it. Also great video! ❤

For me, Bakugou actually bullied Deku, but Bakugou was being influenced by Bakugou's "friends", why isn't it possible that Bakugou would bully Deku just because Deku Powers bakugou knows deku When he was little, Bakugou's "friends" only showed up and he started bullying Deku! (Sorry if I wrote it wrong, it's because I'm Brazilian)
