PRO KPOP PRODUCER REACTS: JIMIN FULL MUSE ALBUM REVIEW 

I admire Jimin's work of getting involved in the composition and production of his songs. He has said that he is not an expert but he wants to tell his own story and he has done it with his albums FACE and MUSE. His leader said that he admires and respects that Jimin wants to express his feelings with his work, success or marketing decisions are not so important, he simply does things the way he wants to do them

I don’t have a preference whether an album is shorter or longer as long as it’s cohesive either musically, thematically, or both. The theme of Muse is Jimin’s desire to find a love that inspires him- literally from the press release “Following his first solo album, “FACE,” where he sought to explore his true identity, “MUSE” documents his journey in search of the source of his inspiration.” I believe the “muse” could be artistic, romantic, emotional, or physical inspiration.

I love how Jimin's album is always unpredictable. Like easily the transition from FACE to MUSE was drastic, even fans who are supporting jimin for years now are still caught off guard. I love the variety between his songs, the play on genres but it doesnt feel scattered or out of theme like some other albums that just look like random compiled songs to make an album. I love how his album is well thought of and the fact that he is very hands on the writing, composition and production of most of the songs up until the concepts. I think that's what sets BTS as a whole and the members apart from a lot of artists.

I prefer the one artists genuinely worked hard for and showcase their artistry, no matter what kind of album it is, you can just feel that the artist enjoy making the songs. Jimin just started seriously writing for his own songs in 2022. He does write even before hiatus but it's not like his top priority, he doesn't even have q background with it. He started as a hiphop/contemporary dancer then learned singing and now writing and composing. He seriously fell in love with making songs in 2022. I know companies wanted profits and marketing is a huge factor in a lot of decisions but Jimin just usually goes with his whims in releases. He could have released Be Mine as the pre-release tbh, but for some reason he chose SGMB 😭 I think it's because he wanted a fun song for everyone and it is quirky and fun, lol. Be Mine should have MV or at least dance performance, it's so good.

Jimin’s song ❣️☆‘Closer Than This’ has a very meaningful MV, that shows some of the most memorable moments Jimin shared with army throughout the yrs since their debut in June 2013. It dropped last yr, in December, 9 days after Jimin joined military, which was a surprise nobody expected, to show his love & support & also to comfort army.  Jimin even had legendary Ayo the Producer, as well, working on it, who even posted, about his involvement. Then ended up being included in Jimin’s MUSE album. This song is even 1 of the 6 songs of Jimin’s, that have reached All-Kill status of #1 worldwide in 119 countries. 🙏👍❤️‍🔥😍👏👏 🫶🎉🎊

It’s amazing the so many things, so many places Jimin went, all that he did non stop, including filming at that abandoned unused resort in Korea, where the Tonight show performance, was filmed, in an abandoned resort, somewhere in Korea, that closed in 2022, that had housed now abandoned swimming pools, not in use anymore. Which is where Jimin went to film the live performance, as well as flying to Hungary, only for a couple of days just to film the “Who” MV, which he also created and oversaw the choreography for, all , more recently, just months before going into the military, end of last yr. and nobody new about it, all for around a couple of yrs. Only time we all heard anything is when ppl he worked with, like the famous producers in LA as well as in NY, posted photos or just comments praising Jimin, while working alongside of him, mentioning as well being so excited about the project they were working on. There were even times when backup dancers posted things that ppl found, saw, so word somewhat got out. But yet, when finally FACE album came out, even then not a one of those producers were involved with any of those songs in FACE. Now we all know that it was for Jimin’s second album MUSE, all those songs, that all those producers were excited about & referring to. But who would have thought that Jimin was already working on second album as well way back then in 2022. Jimin so impressively & amazingly crammed so much in, trying to get as much content out, all before he left for the military the end of last yr! Writing lyrics, composing melodies, producing many songs, but if not credited always still participating, also coming up with concepts ideas, for look of MV’s as well as overseeing the filming & directing as well! Jimin even created the choreography for his song “Who”. Jimin also is involved in design of album covers, and choosing concept & look during photoshoots! The intro Jimin was telling RM that he was messing about on a keyboard at P Dogg's place and PDogg asked him to play it again when he did PDogg suggested he use it for the intro and so that's what Jimin did.

He’s incredible 🤌🏼 but to answer your question, I prefer an album with a lot of songs that are b sides, just cause in my side some of my favorite songs of jimin and BTS in particular, are b side tracks! But that’s prob just cause I am always wanting new music from them, that the more the better 😂

If you realize Jimin is still looking for the path his music will take because all the songs he has released are so different, he has been involved in all the songs on his albums and above all in the composition he cares a lot about the message and the feeling he wants to convey, just like the rapline that takes charge very intimately of his albums, Jimin is following that same path and you can see how much fun he has creating and directing his own music. You can see that in the documentaries and videos behind the scenes.He is just finding his way as an artist and I am excited to see what kind of music and performances he will do in the future, especially since his voice is so unique and it is currently very difficult to find artists with such a unique voice.

Track 7 Closer than this is a song to ARMY and talks about their journey with ARMY and that he'll see us soon (after military). Oh yes and he did this album at the same time he did his FACE album. In fact there's lots of behind the scene's of him at PDogg's place writing lyrics, and working melodies out on a keyboard and there's one funny point were he shows PDogg a lyric and says is it ok to say that and PDogg says yes then looks at him as if to say why are you asking me it's your song. They often talking about making their albums and RM and Jimin did a album exchange chat over food talking about their albums their inspirations behind their work, how they worked on them and much more so we are very lucky we get to see and hear a lot of what goes on when they are writing, composing etc and who they are working with. etc etc.

That's normal for BTS albums and solo albums. No politic's about their album they do want they want and work with who they want to work with. They make the decisions they don't sit there and get told what to do like most in the Kpop Industry BTS have complete artist freedom and were told by Bang PD all I ask if you tell your own stories in your music. He once said to RM about one of his creations 'it doesn't sound like you.' RM glared at him and Bang PD said 'but don't let me stop you, you should still produce do it' which of course he did.

I love the fact that there’s never anything predictable about BTS songs. They never go the way the producers/songwriters expect.

The Rebirth Intro - if you watch the MiniMon interview, RM says after listening to the Rebirth Intro that this was better than Jimin’s whole FACE album! And Jimin was very pleased as it shows his growth as an artist. I like your comments-they are made from your professional understanding of music.

Used to not buy albums because I’d only like 1 or 2 songs. But with BTS, all their “B” sides are amazing. Did you listen to their BTS room live? They did a medley of a few B sides. All are aaahhhmazing!

So I completely agree with your ranking except for the fact that slow dance ties with the others in 2nd and 3rd place (interchangeably). Thye just sound so good together and the instrumental is amazing.

i agree you can´t decide i have who at nr 1 for sure, but then i can´t decide on be mine or rebirth as my second. the rest is also good but i think i agree that slow dancing might be my least favorite. it´s fun because another reactor deemed that as his favorite song on the album. it´s so diffrent from people to people but most put who at the first place. it´s just in a leage of it´s own
