Valdemar your content continues to improve as you refine and practice your style and prose, this video is a particularly excellent example. Thank you for the time and effort you put into educational content for the game. Surely this isn't the most lucrative way to spend your time but I want you to know it means a lot to me to have such easy access to the thought process behind much higher level competitive play. Cheers and good luck to you in future tournaments and ladder. I'll be rooting for you from the twitch bleachers.
This really is a masterclass. I am always in awe when guys of your levels explain things, but even more when you make all these split second decisions. Great work!
All your videos are really eye opening to how much room there is for improvement. Incredible how many factors a pro is subconsciously computing 'on-the-fly'
Great Video ! don't you think going 2 tc vs Ayyoubid is the better play as JD ? In this game you won because you managed to kill a lot of vills but had kiljardi played safer and just turtled in early castle he would have ended in a situation where he has the better units AND the better eco with the 8 free villagers from the castle research. You would have been behind in villagers. Whereas if you play 2 tc you can still outflood the oponent with units (it seems less risky of a play to me what do you think ?) ?
The video really helped, as always. Thank you!! In the game, you raided dozens of villagers to disrupt the economy balance to half, allowing you to maintain the Feudal Age with lv.3 Jeanne to deal enough with the Ayyubids' Castle Age. (As the Ayyubids surely needed some time to recover the failed eco.) However, in most games I raid, it's quite challenging to keep up with my raiding scene while governing other, to determine how much damage the opponent received, and to ensure it's possible to finish the game without following the age up. (Hope the game system being patched to show the unit's kill score.) Can you tell me how do you make proper decision? Do you approximately count the villagers getting down and calculate it with the TC number & playtime?
If you killed 1-3 vils, and you kept vil production up on your TC, then you're 1-3 ahead. Same for 5-7, 10+ etc etc. If you look away for roughly 2-5 second and do macro whilst raiding, 2 knights aren't going to manage more than a couple of vil kills in that time. So you can keep a rough score in your head. Hot key your raiding units and have a hotkey for your TC, then you can quickly switch between them so you don't miss too much action
