Wow thanks for your tutorial learned a lot I am 75 still working in retail wear glasses and a 😷! Glad I found your channel! Great explanations! Linda, Toronto
Thanks so much, Linda and welcome to my channel! I'm so happy the info is helpful to you. There's also a video about masks that might help as well. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uyG5BaHadfA.html And thank you for all you do, working retail, especially this time of year, is a lot of hard work!
I’ve used Burt’s Bees for my lipstick for at least 15 years! I love the feel of it primarily and the lighter shades work really well for me. Looking forward to seeing your video on them.
They're lip products are under rated in my opinion, they're very good! Here's the link to that video, please know it was one of my first videos so... hopefully they've gotten better since then lol! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pGQXugK1O2U.html
My first time to watch a video of you! I wear glasses! A wonderful video, so much info, plus using less expensive than what I buy. I can’t use lipstick, chaps them! I’ll try the glisten! Thank you
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. You might want to try the Burt's Bee's lip shimmers. They're very hydrating and the colors wear more like a tint than a lipstick. I was really impressed with how nourished my lips felt after wearing them. Thanks again, glad you enjoyed the video!
Something you can use that is super cheap, will give you nice shine & excellent moisturization is Carmex lip treatment in the tube! I used to wear lipstick but stopped years ago & switched to glosses but Carmex is amazing for a natural look or to put over a gloss.
Thank you for producing this brilliant video! I’ve never seen any of your videos before, I am definitely a fan! Most of the beauty influencers are playing to the younger set. I’m 6,000 years old (I’m aging at 100 times normal). Yeah, I know. Funny, huh? I dearly love all the great tips for me! I’ve subscribed & clicked the bell. Thank you, again 💖💖💖. Just an added note, your skin is absolutely flawless!
Hello Violet and welcome! I'm so happy you found my channel and are enjoying the content. Not sure I have the answer for aging 100 times faster than normal, but we'll make sure you look great doing it lol! If there is every anything you would like to see a video on, feel free to let me know! Wishing you the best for the New Year!
@@JodiMannes mostly it’s about my skin that’s not as elastic as it used to be, makeup to help me cope with my glasses & making my foundation last longer than a couple of hours.
i use a bronze cream bronzer on my crease part of my lid, and a Cream shimmer but very slight on my mobile lid,i find also as im ageing that matt shadows especially above mobile lid suit me too, helps to make me look younger than my 55 years 😁 love your videos.
I so enjoyed your video. Your voice is nice to listen to. Your presentation is nice, flows well, not loud and stiff. You seem to be a very high professional. You aren’t “dramatic”….nice and natural. Also your video place is really pleasant. I’m so tired of being in someone’s bathroom or bedroom. Even though that’s where I do mine….actually I have an understairs closet fixed with my make-up and jewelry set-up.
Thank you, Carolyn. I appreciate your kind words. I love that you were able to find a space that you could convert into a makeup/jewelry room! It makes getting ready a little more enjoyable I imagine :)
Hello. I just found your channel and have watched a few videos already. I am going to try your eyeshadow suggestions tomorrow. I am excited:) My question is related to this video. How do I keep makeup off of the top of my lens? I think it is my eyebrow makeup which I must wear over my thin gray brows. Do you have any suggestions for that transfer? Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Hi Debbie, welcome! I'd love to hear how your eyeshadow look turned out. As for the top lenses, try using a setting gel on your brows after the brow makeup. (doesn't matter if you use powder, gel, pencil, ect. still set it with a stiff brow gel. I love and would recommend the clear brow gel by Benefit) If you find the makeup is coming from your face makeup, try a little powder then setting spray and let dry before putting your glasses on. Good luck.
👍🏻Excellent tutorial thank you I’m glad I just found your channel. I wear contact lenses / black framed glasses 50/50…. No pun but now I’m in my early 50s. I really like your highlighting tips because I did treat myself to Upper lid lift surgery in 2014 and it was very conservative ‘bliff’ but it has made a magical difference. Re: my minor cosmetic surgery… No joke, I knew I would eventually need this cosmetic procedure, let me explain. When I was breast-feeding my brand new baby boy @19….and I remember I started to stare at my moms eyelids because my mom has a beautiful face stunning face but in her mid 40s … this is the exact time that my mothers upper lids literally started to sag onto her lower lids. Sounds crazy but I literally made a mental note and I said to my 19 year old new mom brain, when I’m in my 40s I’m going to have this eyelid issue fixed. So I kept my word to myself & yes it took a couple years to save $$$ & my lids we’re already starting to lay on my lower lids. So basically it happened to me overnight, just like my mom’s eye lids…..so I’m really glad I did fix my DNA eye lid situation & had an “upper eyelid lift” in summer of 2014 (healed in 4-5weeks) & now @ 53 I’m so thankful my doctor was conservative so no one could put an “eye on”…. Pun intended, no one figured out why I looked 10 years younger all of a sudden btw: you can always go back to your plastic surgeon and have your eye lids (refreshed) but omg, you can’t put back skin … so I don’t over do it. Growing up and living in Hollywood California oh my goodness some women my age or older look creepy because they can’t close their eyes all the way when you’re talking to them and they happened to blink because we blink mini mini times per minute. Now; back to your fantastic video. Until I randomly came across this video regarding “make up for women with glasses”… Holy moly; I really never even thought about my eyes /face needing to be highlighted to bring out the best in my face when wearing glasses; so thank you thank you thank you, Wow, ur make up tips for wearing glasses was actually relaxing educational fun…. NOT me skimming ZyouTube to catch up on day news & watch Negative political babble and/or what letter in the Greek alphabet ‘variant’ the pandemic has mutated into. Thank you for the RU-vid Relaxation Zone and your positive energy. I have a bad habit of clicking to RU-vid just quickly skim the day is national and international news and thank God the algorithm made a mistake and brought me to your channel! Happy holidays and looking forward to catching up your video collection and upcoming videos… Also happy 2022 blessings blessings blessings to you and yours🥳🥂🎉🧚🏼♀️💃 yes I know I don’t subscribe subscribe and I hit notification for all content 🥳
Welcome and thank you for the kind words, and for sharing your story. Building a community where we can learn from one another as we embark on, and embrace aging is one of the reasons I started this channel. And, I'm also glad the algorithms connected us lol. I hope you enjoy the videos on the channel and please let me know if there is a video you would like to see! Wishing you the your family the happiest of holidays!
Great Tips, I still like cream blush and if need a little powder , I love lip colors 💗💗💗So many lipstick then a little gloss ...that's just me .I switch up..RRR yes I know, and my patience wears thin on lip liner .I try 😉. I prefer a little darker and yet I have thin lips, so have to be careful...Thanks Jodi 💖👄👍🙏🏽Pretty Women.,.I mix my lipsticks , as if too dark the gloss off sets it feels so good...
Hi, lovey did like the video and all the tips, I would follow some explanations you did, all natural look being retired I am allowed the makeup before working period not on I do wear verifocal glasses, looks better. Love
I enjoyed this video. First time viewer. The glasses thing made me watch, but I enjoyed you and will subscribe.. i would like to know what color you used in the foundation and the tarte concealer. I think I am close to your coloring. Also the bronzer. It is nice most of the products are drugstore price. .
Hi, welcome! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and hope you find others on the channel fun and helpful. Here's a list of the concealer and foundation and the color I used. I use Milani baked bronzer in Suntan, it's a nice matte bronzer. I hope the list below helps match the right colors for you, good luck! Hi Mary. While I haven't found a full proof way, I have learned how to minimize feathering. Treat the area around your lip as you do your under eyes. For example, fill in the little 'straw lines' around your mouth with a primer, pressing into the wrinkles. Then apply either your foundation OR concealer over it and lightly press a trans. loose powder over the area. That takes care of the skin around the lip. Then line your lips with a pencil to act as a gate almost. I prefer a lip pencil, and avoid a gel formula. Sounds like a lot of steps, but it get faster with practice lol. Good luck, I hope this helps!
I don’t understand how you can put on makeup if you wear glasses. How can you see what your makeup looks like? I wear contacts but there are times I don’t have them and I won’t put makeup on because I can’t see🤷🏽♀️
@@JodiMannes Thank you, I've tried a few mirrors but haven't found the right one but there has to be one out there that works for me. Thank you for your response 🥰
Hello, They're blu-blocker readers. Here's a link to the exact one's I bought, and are shown in this video. You'll want to select the strength that's correct for you. I love these glasses, hope this helps! amzn.to/3e7tuZq
Hello Barb, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Have you tried using a large, lighted, magnifying makeup mirror? Perhaps that would help? Let's see if the viewers have any other suggestions. Any other viewers have a similar challenge and have found a workable solution?
I have found the most annoying thing with make up & wearing glasses is eye shadow fall out. I always base my lids but I've found that the only eye shadows I can wear that don't irritate my eyes & has absolutely ZERO fallout are Clinique brand shadows. The absolute best quality make up/shadows with nice pigment, lasts & the product never creases or falls onto my glasses. My lenses truly stay clean all day. I'm 47 & have been wearing makeup since my teens & was also a beauty consultant at one time. The mascara I use that never ever flakes & makes my short thin lashes super long & thick is Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. This product does not flake, is silky formula & you can even use without an eye lash curler. Also wearing glasses that are rimless will make you look younger & your face brighter & eyes younger. Don't follow fashion trends because trends don't always look good on everyone, especially with glasses. Don't use a thick concealer or heavy powders & foundations under eyes. This can make you look older & settle into fine lines. I use Cover Girl matte BB cream (after spending tons of money on high end products) & apply with a Real Technique brand damp orange sponge applied on moisturized skin. I set my face lightly with Clinique Perfectly Real compact powder foundation which is super light, great coverage without caking or setting into fine lines. I will say the new trends with styles of glasses can ruin anyone's look no matter what you do. Some glasses styles should not exist, lol...they are hideous & unattractive.
Hi Pam. I've found a few things to work. I use a primer in area's that get oily before applying my foundation. After I apply foundation, I'll take a tissue and lightly pick up all of the excess oil from the makeup before using a light mist setting spray like ELF's coconut mist or Too Faced Hangover. Sounds like a few extra steps but goes pretty fast and I've found they help alot. Good luck!
Hi Lilly, I use a very very small amount of powder under my eye's, especially when I wear glasses. I apply it with my fingers, press it into my skin, then take an eyeshadow brush to lightly dust it off. I hope that helps.
Why do I find cream eye shadow look funky ...it looks creasy , just can not most time get hang of cream eye liner, maybe wrong kind ...yet I like cream eye liner, go figure....
Hi Josie, you're in luck if your glasses cover your brows. Brows are taking a 'fuller' look in 2022 so combing them more up and down gives them height. This week's video explains it all in detail. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KeihwWrQi1o.html Hope this helps!
Hi Debra, setting both with a translucent setting powder lightly will help. I put just a little on my finger and press it into the cream eyeshadow. I like Laura Mercier's translucent powder for over my concealer and use it for this purpose as well. Good luck!
Hi Susan, I'm not wearing false lashes in this video however I do have 3 coats of mascara on, the last one being a waterproof mascara. I discovered the Glamnetics lashes after I made this video or else I might have worn them lol. Here's that video incase you haven't seen it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_adKU22AZLU.html
I have so much difficulty putting on eye make up as I wear glasses permanently so when I take them off I can’t see to do my eye make up !!!!! Any suggestions???
Hello. You might find a lighted, magnifying mirror helpful. If that doesn't work, you emphasize your eyebrows, cheeks and lips with coordinated colors between your lips and cheeks that contrast with your eye color. The contrast will allow your eyes to 'pop' without makeup. I hope one of these idea's work for you! Anyone else have a suggestion for WW?
I'm practicality blind without my glasses. I use a desk with a pullout drawer and I place my lighted makeup mirror in the drawer so I can get nice and close. I also try to use shorter handled brushes. Think quality travel brushes.
I have a wall-mounted swing arm mirror at my bathroom counter. It has a 5X inset magnifying mirror, but that’s not enough, so I stuck a 15X mirror onto that. I can see up close and in the big mirror as needed.
How old are you? You keep saying, “As we get older…” yet you look so young. Your skin is perfectly smooth…how is that? What is your night routine? Thanks for these techniques because I wear glasses.
Hi Carolyn. I'm 51 and have been using coconut oil to wash my face for years. The whole routine is in this video. Hope it helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pEc-5qUSAeE.html
I’m not trying to be mean. Honestly I am not. I love your content. I’m sure you don’t have on but this lightning makes you look like you have a 5 o’clock shadow on your upper lip.
