Pro or No? - Quest Pro Controllers Unboxing, Setup and Review 

I just picked up my Quest 3 and definitely thinking about picking these up. While they don't seem like a worthy upgrade to the Touch + controllers on the Quest 3. I prefer the look of black (my hands get sweaty when play, and white plastic discolor easy), built rechargeable batteries, the texture plastic near the trigger will help with grip, and the extra weight (that help with immersion).

For the charging you are supposed to put them together then put them on the charging dock

Great information and love the video as always. As a VR enthusiast myself, it is very difficult to find genuine and in depth product information out there. There is too much hype and personal opinions opposed to raw and helpful information. So thank you and know you are greatly appreciated. As far as the Pro controllers go, like all VR, it all depends on what each individual user wants or needs from their VR experience. For 99% of people, the regular Quest 2 controllers are more than enough. But I can understand why people would be willing to spend $300 on a set of controllers. If I had not moved on from my Quest 2 being my daily VR headset, then I would absolutely be purchasing a pair. Then again, I am an enthusiast and appreciate/enjoy all the little things related to VR. Not everyone can do this but I moved over to three 2.0 base stations mounted above my head level, angled down, in a triangle formation and using the Valve "knuckles" controllers. I can't go back to anything else now. I absolutely love the feel and gameplay the Index knuckles offer and with the base stations, there is never a tracking issue. I have not once had a controller drift or something not register or the HMD have an issue. And that is with both the Valve Index and Varjo Aero. But I can see the appeal of the Pro controllers. Yes $300 is pretty outrageous, but when the Quest 2 controllers are not cheap to begin with being $80 a piece. And if you compare them to other VR controllers that have similar features they are right on the price point. The Valve controllers that are also nearly $300 for a set and have been out for what is ages in the VR world. I see the Pro controllers appealing to a few groups of people. 1) those who want the latest and greatest 2) those who want a more premium or different VR experience but don't want to spend $700 on base stations and controllers then another $1000 on a VR headset 3) those who play VR competitively whether that be in the IVRL or like your daughter 4) those who have been waiting to upgrade to the "next gen" VR headsets that have been rumored to release for over a year now but since they have not yet released, can get a taste with the Pro controllers 5) those who are like yourself and I that love VR and all VR related things. The Pro controllers do offer great features that you touched on (pun intended) like the haptic feedback, rechargeable, no ring, self tracking, etc. and would love to own a pair myself. This is a great step forward in the world of VR, especially for stand alone HMDs. I am curious though. Do the Pro controllers have that "stick drift" issue like the Quest 2 controllers have? Good ol' electrical contact cleaner always did the trick for mine but I am curious if they fixed that issue with the Pro controllers because that and not having to buy $10 worth of batteries a month would be worth the $300 haha. OKAY QUESTION SIR!! I would love it if you did a quick comparison to the cv1 controllers, cause the cv1 controllers are my favorite. i love the weight and durable high quality feel. Hate the cheap feel of the quest 2 controllers. SO not like a video or anyhing but id love for you to explain the similarities and negatives about each. I guesss what im asking is CV1 controllers are my favorite, do the pro controllers feel similar at all?

For beatsaber they are worth it. Everything above exp+ on beatsaber ots 100times beter then the crappy tracking of the normal controllers

If only the setup as as simple as you mentioned. Mine shows in app like connected but then headset doesn't show controllers and instead keeps showing "Controller update in progress (Left 0%) (Right 0%)" and nothing seems to change. It's annoying. Seems like a lot of other people having issues too.

Agree they are expensive but let's be honest thay will either launch the quest 3 without controllers(hand tracking only) or the same cheap controllers the quest 2 already has. Your probably safe buying these If you plan to upgrade to the quest 3 later on

As a Quest Pro user, I can confidently say: DO NOT BUY. The controllers are great on paper, but Facebook's software is absolute garbage and makes it nearly impossible to use my QP without the controllers constantly losing tracking or disconnecting. Right now it's absolute waste of money and a downgrade from the original controller design.
