I think you're focusing more on the ethnicty/race of the matter and not why the term coconut was used. Sure there's a political element, but it's more of a societal condemnation by POC to other POC. In this case, it wasn't just politics, but watching a POC just upholding white systems of oppression. Most POC don't determine their politics by ethnicty. But what most POC people will agree on is POC trying to align with oppressive systems thinking they'll be an exception and treated better. Sunak once said his daughters would never face racism, it's just not true. Regardless of their wealth or class standing. They are not white and won't be ever seen as white.

It turned out ok in this instance but here in the US I don't think it would even get to court and the threat of being arrested for upsetting people's sensibilities wouldn't cost the tax payers. I made a delicious Massaman curry from the Endosperm of the hairy brown coconut as this is the most preferred type. Of course you can't use all coconuts in the same way, for example the Sri Lankan "King Coconut" is typically green or orange on the outside and just a bit of whiteness on the inside. Baby coconuts are famous for their delicious sweet juices, which some people love to drink, especially if you're holidaying in Asia.

So she labeled all POC as coconuts, or just individuals? Individuals don't represent an entire race, and skin colour doesn't have cognitive abilities. It obviously refers to an ideology not a race. Being white doesn't mean you have a certain ideology.

How? Hundreds (if not more) of white people get prosecuted for racially aggravated offences every year, even when there is less intent and pre-planning than in this incident. Other races also get convicted too btw. The unusual thing about this case was that she got away with it. She possibly has better lawyers than someone on legal aid to be fair.

I’m white and totally agree with you , it’s definitely a racial slur. Everyone has their own mind no matter what their race or culture. I’m listening to this writing and she has basically justified this with racial overtones . One thing I will say that I differ with you on is think Kemi Badenoch is a fantastic leader. Personally I hope she becomes a future Prime-minister? Why says as it is a 8:44 very intelligent woman who won’t be tricked by most politicians. She’s my favourite politician for a while. It's not the same, the word Coconut refers to one's ethnicity being brown yet supporting white colonial values, this why school is important

In your scenario, it appears the insult is directed at both the (white) friend and the (white) friend's partner (who is of a different ethnicity). Also, one must acnowledge the systemic dimension of racism. I despise all forms of race-based insults and abuse, but there's a different dimension to a white person (racially) insulting a POC than there is to the reverse.
