This game gets too many updates I’m burnt out at this point. Online isn’t fun anymore Cameo system is trash. I couldn’t get into the game because they released the game without Pinning combos in practice. Characters were half assed to hell when a Dlc is released they’ll be op til the next Dlc come out the game is what it is. I’m fine with saying I don’t like this mk it not for me and that’s ok

this game is absolute ass i give it a shot because its MK but i have to admit the game caters to scrubs way too much where non fighting game players play MK1 whereas i've always played many fighting games over the decades and MK is my absolute favourite and as i see it MK11 and MK1 are the two worst fighting games i have ever played pretty sad state of affais for what is the greatest fighting game franchise imo. remember people were saying yea it lacked content but its gameplay is great, the tune is very different now, why is that? well because initially you may have enjoyed it but its worn thin very quickly. MK11 had a little more depth (not much but its there) that allowed tha tgame to last and be somewhat enjoyable but MK1 is just frustrating beyond words not a fun game at all.

I realized this game was Mortal “Who has the better gimmick” Kombat like 3 months into release, especially as a Sub Main. That’s why it’s been so hard for me to play this again since Tekken dropped because while it has its own problems (because nothing is perfect) at least even the most powerful characters are labbable and beatable both pre and post various patches. In MK1 it’s just like bro, wtf this and hold the gimmick pressure until your opponent makes a mistake.

I feel the exact same way. Pacemaker aka scrubmaker is the most scrub auto pilot character ever created. I genuinely hate pacemaker and Johnny cage. Then it sucks how some characters have mix and some don’t. This game has caused me to break many controllers. And I have uninstalled and reinstalled this game many times over and over. I’m getting sick of it and I’m losing my patience with this game. I’m trying to stay strong and give NRS a chance to fix this but man.

Mk9 style should make a comeback, don't restrict characters with variations, don't try to turn MK into MvC with assists, bring back the aesthetics where males are super buff and ladies are hot af. Just make it a solid 2d fighter with more focus on the neutral, how many more failed experiments NRS wants to have with this franchise? They clearly don't have a vision. These bozos are still unable to animate characters properly, everyone's stiff as a board. Multiverse bs in the story is not helping either.

The game has no defensive tools so it's kinda hard to reward something that's not present. Putting lipstick and a wig on a pig doesn't change the fact that it's still a pig.

No! It’s better to be consistent with your criticisms than to try to please people by blindly giving it a pass. I never understood the whole “criticisms is bad” narrative when they just want blind praise. Criticisms are a GOOD thing because it helps improve a flawed product. These fans just don’t like people saying their game is bad, so they go on full defense mode attacking those fit daring to criticize their favorite franchise. It didn’t work for Ghostbusters 2016, it didn’t work for TLW, it definitely didn’t work for Rings Of Power, and it doesn’t work for MK. Ignoring criticisms is ignoring the truth, and the reason why these fans keep attacking people and trying to demonize criticisms as “bring negative” is because they can’t handle criticisms. This has been their only defense tactic and it’s extremely weak. Criticisms are the analysis and judgment of the merits and faults of a literary or artistic work. That’s all! And it’s a way of helping people improve. These devs don’t seem to listen too well to criticisms, which is why this franchise has gotten worse and worse, and it’s why the fans are fed up and speaking out against it. Same with just about any other franchise lately. Nothing can improve if people just gonna dismissing criticisms as being negative, blindly defending their sacred “product”, and attacking others to such an extreme degree like cult members forming a lynch mob, for speaking the truth.

To be honest I think you should keep doing you. The people that label you as only negative are going to do so anyways even if you stop. As a casual even I can say you shouldnt stop. I think if people wound listen to you with a clean slate esp the past month I think they would realize you just bring up valid points because you do still give the game positive remarks when warranted. And when you don’t, for me at least, about 80% of the time it’s something negative you at least justify it and give examples. Hey Tom, you should listen to M2Dave and make some content talking about the early days of MK or just the early FGC in general. I was just a kid and never got into it until mk9 so I never knew what the arcade days were like. I always heard about “quarter ettiequte”, older kids hogging the arcades, fights/threatenings over matches. That stuff sounds really interesting to me since I never got to live thru it, maybe you could do a video taking us back to a time and even maybe some personal stories surrounding the arcade age FGC.

What's sad about this is once the game is no longer supported the community is going to criticize how badly the game was.But then be hype for the next game that will have the same problems.😅

Everything is handed to u in this game, a game where most characters NEED a kameo just to shine. The FACE OF MK is bottom 3 and u got the kameos being the main source of damage for most characters. This is why most the ppl I know went back to DBFZ, or SF6, Tekkon8. This game is doing better than release, yes, but if it wants to compete then they need to fix the crap that they KNOW they're missing.

If there’s any character that deserves the armored launcher… its Lao 100%. Outside of Lao’s Armor BF2, Lao is terrible. Worst projectile in the game. No spin launcher. Slow start up on up dive kick. Terrible neutral. Kameo Lao is the only Kameo that stole moves from the main roster version of their character. Kameo Sub and Kameo scorpion didnt steal any of their main roster versions moves. Tanya is already ridiculously safe even without Goro… especially her ninja turtle low string… that should not be safe whatsoever. Not to mention her cheese mid staff string. Kung Lao has NOTHING like that in his toolset. This is by far the worst balance philosophy NRS has ever had imo 🤷🏽‍♂️

I agree the game is getting a lot better but if you give players armoured launchers, you HAVE to make them ALL unsafe and full combo punishable. Grab combos are fine to keep in as long as they balance armored launchers, you can't have both! Armoured launchers have to be a risk! You either make a read or you get punished. Same with grab combos, you can't get microducked when trying to grab combo without getting punished, this should be the same for armoured launchers. Also I think Khameleon is the best Kameo in the game and her ball roll should be treated like MKX Mileena, remove the launching aspect and just make it an overhead low attack that knocks down, I also think fan lift should take the whole Kameo bar instead of half, then Khameleon would still be amazing but not as crazy good. TLDR: Make all armoured launchers unsafe or remove grab combos, you can't have both. AND make Khameleon's ball roll knock down instead of launch, and fan lift cost the whole Kameo bar

The MK Kommunity is the most obnoxiously fickle community I'm happy not being a part of. Been an MK fan since the first arcade game, (to hell with MK 11, im not getting MK One) never got into "communities", just me and a bunch of homies playing fighting games before online was even a thing. But having witnessed gaming "communities" with MK, holy shit!!!! They want to have things both ways. Injustice 2 opened my eyes to how fickle the NRS/MK community behaves. Every character was called broken in that game, people praise the game when it came out and was shitting on MK X, then within a week of Injustice 2, they were shitting on that game. They want honest opinion, but you are also too negative!! Like Ron Simmons ...DAMN!!!

1. Throw kombos are lame 2. Armored launchers are fine. They just shouldnt be safe. 3. I could do without upblock, especially since the jump ins are very reactable in this game. 4. I don't mind fatal blows simply because its a way to prevent your opponent from breaking and quite frankly, half the cast is doing 400 damage kombos anyway. But, agree with Tom here. All FBs should be punishable by the entire roster. 5. Autopilot gameplay- give everyone Movodos FB mechanic at the cost of 1 bar. Like, Baraka/Styker you can just armor through it. There's options. 6. They are going to nerf Khameleon into the ground cause of all this complaining. Which is the exact opposite of what needs to happen in this game. Nerf so she aint plus on glaive, nerf so roll is more punishable, but if they f with her availability this game is screwed. Just regenerate all Kameos after the end of each round so the other kameos are more available.

Good video man. Also I finally realized why I don't like MK1 this time around. Couple days ago I was watching someone play the old Marvel Vs. Capcom online. As he got into like the 5th match and i was still enjoying it, i realized the gameplay was almost exactly the same as the new MK1 (minus the character swap after you lose a round). However watching this was fun. it wasn't the nostalgia, it wasn't max talking while playing, it was the speed. Everything was coming in so quick. The air combo time was earned by the player due to how little the air time was, the varied styles of play with each character, the down time for the jump in strikes were fast so you could keep the opponent guessing. I was genuinely having fun watching them play. Before i knew it i had watched like an hour of them going through matches. If only MK1 could speed it up a bit and make the air combo BS feel more earned I think I would be more interested in watching matches or even buying the game and playing it.

Bro I had a couple Raiden players hit me once run away then start zoning with lightning balls I work my way in and they jump Superman to the other side and repeat the process 🤦🏾‍♂️ it's gotten to the point where I see Raiden and just quit the game. They have turned mk into injustice. Instead of having skill and knowledge of the game it's who can poke , jump , grab , and throw shit the best.

People like you who bought M1K Premium or Kollector editions might want to gather and sue WB for false advertisement. Arguing how Johnny Cage kameo was promoted, how after a month of the release of the game NRS announced that the product that you already paid for was going to be changed, and how they didn't deliver what they promised when you purchased their product, you may get your money back.

I honestly couldn’t watch your video when it first came out because I SO burnt out and over MK for the first time in my life. I was live streaming it but with so many mechanical issues and (from at least my perspective) some fighters having WAY more advantage than others. I’m just done with the game. Even after defeating it since release and sticking with it because I was having so much fun. It’s just not fun anymore.

Hey Tom I’m not mad at you. You’re telling the truth about the game real mk og’s remember the real mk feel not this Cartoon Network/ DC Comic version of mk. I like real honest Content whether it’s good or bad. Sometimes I do enjoy the game but it’s usually because I’m getting my mix ups off that I was in the lab cooking up . But from a defensive standpoint the game can be trash.

I have had long conversations about this game since it launched. I’ve criticized the fighting gameplay, single player content, online, designs for the characters in short essays. Many people in this community are very disingenuous with their arguments. They see you support the game or speak negatively against it and feel like it’s some sort of attack. It just all becomes annoying. They think the criticisms come form a place of hate but it comes from a place of passion. This game is also very complex when it comes to critiquing it. They get a lot of things right but also so many things wrong. And this is ever in the game. From the costume design to the fight mechanics in the fights. Even the animation of this game is some of the worst I’ve ever seen from mortal kombat. At the same time it’s the best they’ve ever done when it comes to cinematic. This game is just incredibly frustrating to talk about😂

I saw a lot of people complaining about mk11s krushing blows, armor break, slower pace and kombos being short, they basically got it all in this trash game...

My solution; make Khameleon the 30th character, a female Mokujin, who gets the movesets of all ladies on a random rotation. Make classic Kitana, Mileena and Jade kameos, give them more moves and give the base kameos more moves as well.

They should do a points system like One Piece Burning blood. Some main characters cost 800-1100 and kameos can fill the rest of the 1500 limit. At least for KL.

Here is why Woke-tal Kombat 1 is a bad game 1- the game is an unfinished mess. there are even rumors that it was originally gonna be Injustice 3 but but changed to MK and rushed 2- story is now literally a joke, they abandoned all the classic MK lore and atmoshpere, resetted everything twice yet managed to make it even worse and worse, turned MK into some marvel multiverse B S 3- roster is few, lacking a lot. and they keep adding B S guests from comic like Dumbi-Man, Piss-Maker, Home-Invader, which takes slots of legacy characters 4- kameos should have been optional and it should have been tag team modes, not just assists 5 - ruined the character origins, subzero is now scorpion, some edgelord is now subzero, baraka is now a good boy, reptile is a soi boi, shao is now a generic goon, reiko is a shao fan boi, and and havik is now dariou with darius story and meat's moveset, and worse he's a commie hahah :D 6- worst char designs. gave subzero and scorpion granny buns, smoke having a karen haircut. and especially fems.
