The fact that Nintendo have listened to what we the fans want is absolutely awesome.

This was so hype for me. Loved this direct, even though they edged us the entire time and made us wait until the end for the duo because they knew everybody wanted to see them.

Gotta love Nishi's development from 24:35 to 30:32. Frye won 'em over real quick, haha

I love how when nishi first saw Fyre didn't like her design, but 5 minutes later she says "I love her!" Character development right there.

Did anyone else notice the changes to rainmaker? They hit a checkpoint and the near the end started to carry it to the next one. Curious to see if it’ll help the mode out.

THIS IS EVERYTHING WE WANTED!!! The only thing I’m upset we didn’t get is a full PB overhaul but it still looks better than before so that’s not even a huge issue. The card game looks freaking insane and I can’t wait for two completely different competitive scenes in this game. THE SPLATANA IS THE SWORD I ALWAYS HOPED FOR. THE NEW SPLATFEST SYSTEM IS FANTASTIC AND BUG MAN IS MY GUY! OH MY GOSH THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE LESS THAN A MONTH NOW GAMERS

The Direct was awesome! Here are my thoughts: Definitely expected Tenta Missiles to be a placeholder special weapon after its brief appearance in the first trailer. Suprised Wahoo World was selected too. Excited to see more details regarding the splatanas (they're extremely cool!!), Hagglefish market seems like a really fun stage, and how you can link gear to a specific weapon is awesome. The new special weapons are awesome (the tacticooler is a cool concept and the reefslider reminds me of the kraken). Happy Mahi-Mahi is back and though I wish it was part of the base game, I'm also happy flounder heights is back:) The character and locker customization options are fantastic! Lastly, the new lobby looks dope, you can change the main abilities of gear now which is amazing, the idols are cool, and the match replay mechanic is a welcome addition. Overall, very satisfied with the direct!!

I just realized that at 24:22, they seem to be in the place where the story mode happens, not only that, but their masks appear in the art of return of the mammalians, so I would assume that they will appear in the story mode

I know that it might be too early to say it, but to me, Splatoon 3 look and feel more like a proper sequel than Splatoon 2 was to Splatoon 1.

This direct was great, loved it, but my mood immediately got flattened down again… I watched some other people’s reactions, and the amount of negativity that people outside of the Splatoon bubble give to this game is incredibly stupid.. People that have no clue about the game judging the game and saying its existence is irrelevant…..

So I TOTALLY called the "Splatana Wipers"! I've brought up the idea on this channel, and I've also suggested the weapon 2 YEARS AGO on a separate forum! Initially my idea was dual-wielding wipers with a single-wielding one as a variant. I also had the idea of a "rushing slash" move, though more flashy than what the direct showed. Still though, glad to see one of my weapon ideas came to life! :D EDIT - Also _sort of_ called the Rainmaker changes. In one of Chara's videos I thought of having multiple pedestals, but I think my idea was planting the Rainmaker and trying to keep it there for a set amount of time. Something like that. But Rainmaker definitely needed changes, and I like where this is going so far.

This was by far the best direct I’ve ever seen.

Missiles shouldn't start charging again until all of your current missiles have landed, which if you fire your missiles from a long ways away can take ages. Being able to be halfway to your next missiles sometimes by the time your missiles finally land is honestly ridiculous.

BUT THEN at 9:23, when it says “Inkling or Octoling form,” it became clear to me: “Squid form” isn’t inclusive to Octolings! I think it’d be pretty funny if there was someone either as an in-game character, or a real world human complaint about how they have to be “politically correct” about what terms they use, lol

One thing that *is* fantastic that hopefully makes up for the inclusion of missiles is, with the amount of specials we already know about and now know about.... I think we have more non-displacement specials *than* displacement specials. And like Chara said, missiles is probably getting reworked. I hope the instakill on missiles getting ditched.

Fun fact: when missles were revealed I made such a racket from annoyance that my dogs thought it was family outside with groceries and began howling their asses off. Also this definitely the most stacked game so far, massive changes with all sorts of cool shit. Concerned about the splatana class tho as they dont seem to have a movement option to close the gap like other short range slayer classes do beyond the rather short moving dash. The trio is pretty crazy, story mode actually has cutscenes, all the QoL and gameplay improvements, “apartments”, so much that we can be hype for.

We were technically correct about a male idle just not in the way we expected •-• (BIG MAN SUPREMACY!!!!)

Things I like in order of appearance. (and a couple I don't) 1. Explo's emote looks nice 2. Squid surge doesn't activate with a button press at the lip of the wall like I thought but rather is a means of charging it and bounding the whole wall in a single action. Very cool. Mechanically simplistic, but cool. 3. Squid Roll doesn't actually grant invincibility frames but merely light resists ink damage or knockback or both. Which is good. 4. I like Scorch Gorge's tower 5. Very hyped for Undertow Spillway 6. Hammerhead Bridge is now completed it's construction in-universe, might make it better or worse. Those scaffolding grates were unique. (this is a S1 thing) 7. Mahi Mahi is back. I'm over the moon. Yes. (S1 map) 8. Sturgeon, Inkblot, Makomart, Wahoo: all good S2 maps. Maybe Wahoo a little less so. Would have preferred Reef, Manta, or Arrowana 9. Flounder Heights is coming in the future which is the S1 map I wanted MOST. woooo 10. Splatana huh? Since I've dropped Krak-on Roller (now secondary) for Explosher as my main maybe I should pick this up and have it be my secondary. Probably should invest in a shooter this time though. 11. - Worst part of the direct for me. Missiles are back. Horrid. 12. - Inkjet happens to counter Explo, I was hoping it wasn't coming back either. Though I'd take it over Missiles. 13. Ultra Stamp and Booya Bomb are back, I wanted ONLY those two back, as they were late additions to S2. And they're excellently designed besides. 14. You just plain just don't use gold for weapons anymore. Now gold is for other stuff. 15. By spending extra tickets I can get Explo early. Bitchin. 16. Headgear shop's mini-sidekick tradition still going. Those teeny shades are adorable. 17. Noticed "Sub Resistance Up" that is clearly going to replace Bomb Defense DX. I like. 18. - I don't think I approve of "Intensify Action" these new movement options should be predictable uniformly I feel. 19. You can save Weapon+gear combos. Yes, fantastic. AND specific sensitivity settings on them? Now that's just going the extra mile. Charger benefits form lower sens. I might finally invest real time into it now. 20. You can change the MAIN slots too on gear now. Now you can truly look however you want. 21. Checkpoints for Rainmaker. Neat. No new change to ClamBlitz. Many think it needs a tweak. I for one like the mode. 22. Test Range is MASSIVE now, nice. 23. Can play in the test range while waiting for a match. INCREDIBLE. 24. Ghosts are cool AND let you play with friends on the same team. I know you've wanted that. Same. 25. Replay recordings automatically saved. This will let us review our own plays and even judge what the enemy was doing. And learn. 26. Locker decorating. Thats nifty. Thats what gold is for then. 27. Splashtags are even cooler. And Fortnite emotes, lol this is our future. Not even cringe when it isn't Kratos doing that fucking floss dance. 28. LMAO card battles. The announcer was cute here. eh I'll play it once. Maybe it's really good? 29. Salmon run. Bro egg passing changes everything. I'm actually excited for this mode now 30. She says "one of" the new King Salmonids. So there might be more types than just this Godzilla one. 31. Salmon Run on regular maps. Thats awesome. Splatfest but for Salmon Run. 32. Looks like the campaign is continuing the philosophy of Octo Expansion. Very Good. 33. Also jesus the plaza is huge this time around 34. Photo mode and can put em in your locker. Nothing but FEATURES in Splatoon 3. 35. Recon any map, any time. I want to cry. 36. With X battle existing that'll take some of the edge off of Anarchy Battles. You might get some enjoyment out of the other modes now. 37. Updates every 3 months is stellar and the phrase "Large-Scale Paid DLC" gets me hard. 38. - Wew. The blue idol is serviceable but Frye is so ridiculously fugly it has to be on purpose. Jesus. 39. Skipping the fucking news. Thank you. 40. Their song is pretty damn good though. 41. 3 choice splatfests thats wild. 42. -+ Oh I didn't notice the first time that TriColor is actually 2v4v2 not 4v4v4. Don't know how I feel about that. 43. Testfire splatfest. Sweet. 44. - eh Big Man seems like more of a mascot. Or a pet. Not just up a going with 3 idols with a RGB motif feels like a missed opportunity. 45. Splatoon at Pax, this game is getting SO much love from Nintendo. This is finally being treated with flagship-series status like Mario and Zelda. So this was absolutely amazing 12/10. Features. Features. Features. If I find out Tenta Missiles have been significantly nerfed and Burst Bombs get the rework-nerf I want this'll even be 13/10 I'm absolutely over the moon right now. I love this game.

I thought of Reefslider as more of a horizontal splashdown, easy to see coming and explodes the surrounding area at the end. Nintendo said "No apartments! Go outside to play with your friends!" I love the new idols so much. 😩💛 Kinda disappointed to not have a male (inkling/octoling) idol, but I love their personalities already!

I was hoping for a Sword like weapon in splatoon 3 (tho I was expecting it to be an Ink brush type and/or for them to make it based off of a Pen) so man that's so hype. I get both a Bow and Sword to use in this game.
