Man, I've got some great friends. Peter Zila gave Doug Jackson of SV Seeker a Pro Pulse 200 and Doug's workflow really wasn't conducive to using it as he likes his remotely powered lunchbox MIG much more, so he passed it off to me.
At the same time I was needing a new Plasma Cutter and HTP asked me to review both the Pro Pulse 200 and Micro Cut 875sc in my real world shop environment. So here we are, 6 months later and my review is in. Overall, I am VERY happy with both machines, having to really dig deep to find things I didn't like.
Check out the Pro Pulse 200 (now revamped with added stick functionality as the Pro Pulse 220 MTS): www.usaweld.com/Pro-Pulse-220...
and the Microcut875sc: www.usaweld.com/MicroCut-875S...
And a special thanks to Peter Zila: / @zilawelds
and Doug at SV Seeker: / svseeker

I have had the tig machine for several years and its perfect! No complaints at all. Even the guys over at USA weld are really helpful and stand behind their stuff. Cant go wrong.

Hey man. thanks for posting these videos. Years ago I worked for a Traffic sign company here in NJ. I am currently an Iron worker and very much into fabrication and electronics. we have an old clapped out cnc plasma table that barely works. I found stepper motors, rails and getting familiar with Inkscape and Fusion 360. so thanks to you and these videos I am now motivated to build my own plasma table and work for Myself..

Great video bud. I have a Lincoln mig 110v and I sometimes I wish I had a 220v so it lays a real smooth bead. I dig the holder... I need to make one of those for mine.

...or buy one from Jimbo, For $25 it was worth it to me.

If its dedicated to the cnc table bolt the ground directly to the table, get rid of the clamp all together.

Now that you've had the PP200 for 1 year, time to open it up and blow out all the crud! I opened up my PP200 and PP300 and while they weren't too bad, there is definitely a good amount of dust that makes it's way in there. Note: only the two left hex bolts on the top handle (when looking at the machine from the front) need to be removed as they screw into the internal sheet metal divider (the other two hex bolts only screw into the red case itself which comes off). That way you can tighten up the gas fitting while you're in there as well.

I've had mine open too, didn't have too much dust

My only real complaint with the PP200 so far is the gas connection/hose. I added the western enterprise quick disconnect on the back and that solved that issue. Welds steel better than anticipated; initially had an issue with .023 in it, but that was mainly me dealing with a new machine(haven't bought a new one in 9+ yrs). The 6061 and 5052 welds are super smooth. And it is fairly light weight w/o a spool of wire inside. Still need to try dual shield on it. But so far, color me impressed.

Maybe the gas line is a common thing? either way, it's gas tight and that's what really matters. I am impressed with how light the box is, makes going mobile easier.

I got the plasma cutter that Harbor Freight was selling some 12 years ago, 220VAC 40 amp and the consumables were $3 for a full change out (3 parts) when bought as a 30 part kit. It does an amazing job, but IDK if the duty cycle is the same. In a commercial setup, I could see where the duty cycle would really matter and that HTP has to have a much higher duty cycle to justify the 3X price tag. Looks like a good machine.

100% duty cycle, can't really beat that

I have the same plasma cutter , but im trying to understand the speeds / feeds and adjusting the dial on the actual plasma cutter, do u just adjust the dial and leave it alone ? then adjust feeds in the program to match that ? or use the feeds provided in the manual and adjust the dial. and also what are you using for the kerf width and how do you figure that out im stumped . or if anyone has any sugestions thanks alot
@42Fab

I turn the machine to 38 amps for 18ga and 30 amps for 20ga, but otherwise leave it alone. 0.06" is a good kerf width, adjust from there as results dictate.

Ive been out of the loop for quite a while, but with all the advancements for small job shops...Im wondering if anything similar has happened in "punching out" sheetmetal parts? Specifically something like electric motor laminations from electrical steels. Damn near impossible to find such things except literally by the boat load on a slow boat from China.

Not really, the strength of a gantry required makes DIY less attractive

Impressive machine for the price, great for someone needing to fire it up once a week or so to make a part, not a production level machine, if only due to the size

I live in Europe, I have a Kemppi Mig, the switch is on front, top... why does it need to be on the back In certain countries??
@42Fab
@42Fab 5 лет назад
Shortest high voltage power run possible. Is yours an older machine? My ~15yo Miller is front switch too
@juliobielkiewicz2032
@juliobielkiewicz2032 5 лет назад
to keep power controls and incoming (mains) line at a minimum distance and isolated. example , if the wall cord of the machine was coming out of the front or any side, the power switch would be on that same side. hoped that helped

What was the previous brand plasma?
@42Fab

I'm not one to dog on products unless there is bad service. It was an older mid range model of a common brand

@@42Fab was it the machine or consumable design in your opinion.
@42Fab
@42Fab 5 лет назад
No idea, but I'd guess more machine than consumable due to the number of failures to light the arc

It has indeed been. HTP has revamped it with the Pro Pulse 220 MTS, a machine that can do all the same MIg and TIG but with added stick functionality, for the same price: amzn.to/2ANTK7q

If you think I would spend 6 months using a machine, filming it, then editing, to do an ad worth $2k (value of the machine) if I did not actually like the machine/want to put my name behind it, you do not understand what a welding shop rate is.
