@@trayreacts3633 yes! Just commented saying please do Ed Reed. He's THE best safety of all time. Like no one else to ever do it. Also returned punts, blocked kicks, he did it all
Fun fact, he was the last original Raven left on the team. Drafted in our inaugural year in the first round. He was our second ever pick and boy did we nail that first round in 96’. #RavensNation #NewEra8
I was born and raised in baltimore and everytime I see that missed field goal it brings a tear to my eye. Miss getting to watch that defense terrorize the league. Ray, Ed, and Suggs were all beasts
A little context for you...I'm from Baltimore and Ray Lewis is my favorite player of all time. 7 minutes simply does not do him justice. If somebody took the time to actually make a highlight reel of his best plays it would be at least half an hour long. I honestly feel that he was the best football player of all time. His passion and intensity was unmatched. He had something to him that's unseen and only felt. I've watched this man shed tears on the field multiple times. To have that type of impact from the middle linebacker position in the NFL is unheard of. I honestly get emotional watching him and remembering what he did for that team and our city. He played 17 years. Nobody plays middle linebacker for 17 years. 17 years of throwing his body around like that and he was a force until the very end. I love the man. As far as the Lawrence Taylor comparison...LT was a pass rusher. They're 2 different positions. Ray was a much better leader though. Maybe the best leader ever. You have to do Ed Reed now. They go hand in hand. They played together on defense for over a decade. You won't be disappointed. Ed Reed was the Magic Man...
So many contradicting points in that case and redacted "testimony" and suspect asf meanwhile Adrian Peterson spanks his kid and got kicked out for a season smh
As a proud Ravens fan and being able to see Ray Lewis play in person and being at his last home game there’s nothing that compared to watching that man play
Ray lewis was the ravens version of how kobe was to the lakers. He was the heart and soul of our team. You gotta do ed reed his partner in crime. Miss both of them playing but they will always be ravens and all of us ravens flock will never forget them
Ray Lewis is one of my all time favorites, but young man, Ray will tell you himself that LT is the GOAT of defense. LT played in the era when football was a much tougher game.
Ray lewis played for 17 years at a position that sees new blood every 7-10 years. He was a force of nature for almost 2 decades and retired the way any sports player dreams they could. Winning it all and retiring on top.
Whole video gave me chills and goosebumps ray Lewis was somebody I grew up watching on my favorite team I remember that super bowl run in 2012 like yesterday even though I was so young
Strength, speed, knowledge and will... hard to beat man... size was limited but the rest carried his way... mind over matter man. He has a great story. #GOAT
So yeah Ray is a MLB primary job tackle ball carrier Taylor was an OLB primary job sack quarterback and set edge they were each the greatest at their positions but to compare them is skewed because it’s subjective. If you like the smash mouth running game stuff then Ray is your guy if your into burying quarterbacks and disrupting the line of scrimmage Taylor is your guy.
As a Ravens fan, I wish I could watch him play just one more game. I will never enjoy watching anyone play football as much as I enjoyed Ray for all of those years.
Love me some Ray Lewis! I am a die hard Ravens fan! I am a native of Baltimore! The Goat! The Legend! The best to ever play the game! He is so loved here in Baltimore! #RavensFlock #RavensNation
I miss Kam, I rooted for him when no one gave a **** about him. He nearly became Adrian Wilson(Arizona Cardinals Strong Safety Hybrid type 6'3 240lbs)but did a lot in his 9 years I think?
Ray Lewis is what happens when someone is born with ability but still works harder than anyone else. Had the drive, the leadership and work ethic that is not even human. You get an athlete that people will still talk about 100 years from now.
Ray started his career in baltimore, was an ORIGINAL raven and went out a Super Bowl champion in his final season! My personal favorite player in any sport!
i was born in baltimore so i’ve always been a fan and let me tell you once he said it was his last year every single ravens fan felt the energy.all of us ravens fans from the start we’re saying we’re winning this year lol
Bro Ray Lewis got that anime concentration bit where they slowly exhale visible vapors with the flash red eyes and insta power aura when he hits. ALL. THE. TIME😂😂😂
Ray was pretty much the heart of the team and a beast on defense. Should definitely look up Kam Chancellor as well. Was a safety for the Seahawks and he was a monster. Had the hands and speed of a CB, and the hitting power of a LB
That second play Jerome Bettis aka “the bus” #36, was not the easiest dude to hit stick or even tackle back then, and here comes ray lewis to end that 🔥🔥
" I feel like I'm about to play football and I a'int doing a damn thing! I just ate a whole pizza... I'm not proud of that. "!! Bruh... I have not laughed that hard in a while I about fell out my damn chair. Thank you sir!
Lawrence Taylor was a hybrid LB/DE. LT was rarely in coverage, he was in a 3 point stance rushing the QB every play. Hard to compare because of two different paly styles.
Lawrence Taylor wasn't a hybrid LB/DE. He was an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. He was also NEVER in a 3 point stance... he always stood up. He didn't rush the QB on every play either. He dropped back and covered running backs and tight ends also and even had a 99 yard interception for a touchdown. It is hard to compare Ray and LT because the positions are different and the era's are very different. That being said your description of LT is way off.
"Thats a big dude he hit like that" that was a running back jerome betis who was known as "the bus" one of the biggest power running backs to ever play the game he was known for running defenders over and always falling forward
As a Ravens fan I must say do The GOAT Ed Reed the best safety ever, and the best DB duo on the league rn Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey. Ps. Already liking and subscribing cause I've seen your post scrolling down twice.
6 of one, half-dozen of the other my man. Lawrence played OUTSIDE linebacker, Ray played MIDDLE linebacker (or INSIDE linebacker for a few years when Baltimore went to the 3-4 defense). Same requisite caliber play/athlete - just different application...!
You should also check out a fellow linebacker that people compared him to but they was vastly different and he was Brian urlacher another middle linebacker that played for the Chicago Bears
Taylor was a beast as well. He was primarily an OLB though and rushed the passer or would set the edge on outside runs. Lewis, being a MLB, would rush the QB, set up for run stopping, or go out in pass coverage. Really hard to compare them as they both did different things for their respective defenses. As an all around LB, I'd take Lewis. As a pass rusher, it's Taylor. As far as hard hits, it is a toss up as both were absolute maniacs on the field. Taylor did win an MVP, something Lewis never did. Taylor was also known to do coke and would be high during some games which def gives him an advantage as you just go f-ing crazy when you are coked up. I like this video you reacted to, but you really should react to a video that shows more of his highlights. Lewis has waaay more highlights than what was shown. They weren't even his best highlights in the video. And the part where he announces his last ride, that was right after the ravens made the playoffs in the 2012 season. They went on to beat the colts in baltimore, the peyton manning led broncos in double OT in Denver, and then the Pats and Tom Brady in New England, before finally beating the SF 49ers in the Super Bowl (which was a blowout prior to about an hour long light outage that allowed the younger 49ers team to come back and make it close). He played for 16 or 17 years (really long for a LB) and retired after the 2012 season (in 2013).
Lt was an outside linebacker. Ray was inside. Ray kinda ran the defense whereas LT had the defense built so he could rush every play. In terms of defense I think LT is widely considered the best player of all time but ray is definitely in the upper echelons with him and a bunch of others. RIP to Derrick Thomas if you wanna watch someone from my city
Ayy man love the homie joseph vincent, but NFL throwback got some really good vids too where they show you the career span of the people at their highest and lowest and arent that long either. Also shit since u checked out ray lewis def check out ed reed
