Even blasters with "spring returns" need a little extra forward pressure to perform their best.

Alchemist has the detent so this really isn't an issue for it. Just make sure you hear/feel the click!

Magnets! Thats the solution! I glued magnets to the priming bar and shell of my XS Longshot after removing the ratchet system so it could fire one-handed

i might try this with my caliburn C4 because its loose so if you point it upwards it falls down if you arent pushing it forward, im only 12 so my arms dont like having to hold it forward on such a long blaster

Yeah... I've never understood why modders remove the priming locks, and also why several "high-end" blasters aren't designed with one. My Trion doesn't have this issue because I left the priming lock IN. I did remove the slamfire mechanism so I can de-prime, but the prime lock is intact. In fact, I can even pull back on the priming grip (foregrip) to pull the stock firmly into my shoulder and it doesn't affect it at all.

Alchemist does have one actually, in the form of a ball detent.

So you can deprime a lot of stock blasters completely lock up once you prime
@4WDriver

@@johnmurcott1273 the older N-Strike stuff from pre-2010, maybe, but everything modern has a priming lock override. But honestly, even with something that didn't have a prime-lock override, I'd rather plug the barrel with my thumb and pull the trigger to deprime than remove the priming lock. If I gotta push forward on the priming grip, that kinda defeats the purpose of having a long-format blaster with a shoulder stock. It negates any stability gain from bracing it against your shoulder since you're using your off-hand to literally pull it away from your shoulder.

@4WDriver yes, but using that midround is awkward, and the moving barrel design doesn't benefit from locking forward completely the same as a sealed breech.

@@johnmurcott1273 true, but I only brought up lower power stock older models to show the comparison that not even a lot of them NEED the priming lock removed, so why would you ever do it on a high performance sealed breech? I also think it being slightly easier to open the breech again mid battle is superfluous. The time wasted in having a jam (the main reason you'd need to reopen the breech) is mostly in clearing said jam. The amount of time you save by not having to actuate an override is negligible compared to the amount of time it takes to identify and physically clear the jam itself. I would rather have the slight extra obstacle of a priming lock override in my way if and when a jam occurs, rather than have the constant detriment to performance and potential accuracy all the time (which is the reality of an action that doesn't lock up). Plus, it makes the whole system more susceptible to human error in the form of double-feeds, partial double feeds (jams), or simply pulling the breech partially open causing the lack of performance discussed, or even possibly a squib. And even on the older stuff without priming lock overrides, I would rather open it up and fix the broken part that is causing it to totally seize up. I prefer curing the condition over simply treating a symptom.

First. Hi Luke! ^-^ I've been having issues like this with my Nexus Pro after I removed the slide lock. Pretty important!

That's the Unicorn Wings Kit by RedCowl! It allows you to use almost any 16mm OD barrel or add a Printed SCAR on the stock barrel. outofdarts.com/products/unicorn-wings-barrel-shroud-and-collet

Since it's an o-ring, don't push too hard to seal or you will deform the o-ring causing it to fail faster or to break seal due to too much pressure and deformation of the o-ring. Could modify it to be double interior o-rings but that would increase friction and required power to work the action. Would probably have to modify for a stronger spring in that case. If you're really good with modification you could modify it to be an internal flat seal attached on the backside of the slide rod, with a spring to help hold tension. That way you don't have to worry about deforming an o-ring since the only deformation that could happen would just make the flat seal diameter larger which would just seal better.

That’s really not an issue on these.
