You need a close up camera pointed at your fingers so we all can see what you’re doing. Great history on the Portland hitch. I’m in Newfoundland now and just fished in Portland Creek!

Like your videos couple flies I will definitely be giving a try. I use the hitch most of the time I think it's the same way you described. I point the eye of the hook down river pull the clinch knot to that side and 1 hitch right behind the eye in front of the head but not that tight when the hook is set the hitch comes off. Keep the videos coming
