Newbie here...thanks for the lesson! Maybe you can assist me with a problem....I've been provided with stems of audio for the short film I'm working on. They have also provided me with a full temp track of all the stems mixed together for a guide. My problem...the sync pop sound at the beginning of the stems are slightly off from the full temp track...sounds like a frame rate issue maybe? Thanks for any help
If pro tools doesn't want you editing video in Pro tools...... What do you use? Do you edit in something else like Sony Vegas and then export it and import it to pro tools?
I personally use Premiere to edit videos, but that's mostly because I teach audio at a film college, and they supplied me with an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. I know a lot of pro LA film editors are using Avid Media Composer now to edit video. And yeah, export and import. I use AAF exports usually. I actually have a video on that on my channel. If you run a search for like AAF export / import with my name, you should find it. Thanks for watching!
@@arthurcastellano_dp Hi, sorry about the delayed response - I'm only seeing this comment now for some reason. I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but just in case: you can either choose not to have the audio included in your export from Premiere, or you can always import into Pro Tools and choose not to import the audio with the video (it's a checkbox). If all else fails, the audio is placed on a separate track from the video in Pro Tools, so you can just delete the audio track if you don't want it. Hope that helps!
Hi can u import video directly into a music session and make video? 2 can u import a mastered audio track into a video and create music videos? I have used 12 for recording and mixing all day jist never tried to make a video.
Hi, yeah, you can definitely do both of those things! You just go to import video like shown in this video, or import audio based on what you're trying to do. Let me know if you have any trouble with it though - good luck!
Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you could help with an error. I get an error message about not having the right codec when importing the video. I downloaded the codec from avid which was 2.3.7 and still no luck. The file was a .mov file. Google isn't helping. :c
Sometimes pro tools can be picky. I'd try converting the video and then reimporting. Avid also has a page listing video codecs that play nice with pro tools, so you could check that before converting your video.
Windows: When I go on Import: I dont have a second Menu with Audio, Midi, Video. Their is just "Import" and when I Import a .mp4 file, Pro Tools just import the Audio from that Video. Can someone help me? :o
