Thank you for building a good product I've towed several of my trucks thousands of miles I do use 1/2 in hi grade chain though great product I paid for it in 2 tows and saved thousands of dollars in mechanic bills on the road
Thanks, was shown quickly once on Fri and I just wanted to refresh my memory before I pick up my broken down rig today, Sunday first time for everything
By "glad-handing" the chains you effectively made it one chain. Since the SWL of the 3/8" Grade 80 chain is 7100#'s and the rear of the truck weighs 8800# you are overloaded.
The tug method is not a valid method of checking king pin lock. Check the fifth wheel jaws to see that they are closed around the pin and the position of the release handle to see that it is all the way in. Thanks for showing your chain routing, that was very helpful.
I just use a chain and another drive to steer the other truck in nutral and all he gotta do is keep some tenchion on the chain and stear, lol thats thing is a wast of time
@Anthony Nesbitt with your method what happens when you run out of air? I think this would save a hell of alot of money to be able to tow your own truck back home the chain method works ok in a car for a short distance but what about if you need to tow it hundreds of miles?
