This is so true. Society often doubts if a crime actually took place. Or did the woman tempt the man by what she wore? Was she in the wrong place? Did she date the wrong person, or say the wrong thing? She may feel assaulted again by the legal system.
The fact that very few women complain about a sexual assault/rape is understandable when you consider how they are interrogated, made to relive the horror they have gone through repeatedly. For many women that interrogation is worse than the actual assault because it cements that assault in their mind.

Equality is a notion that comes from precedent that the Supreme Court ruled on in the past. But we know what three recent Supreme Court appointees, who testified they wouldn’t go against precedent during confirmation hearings. We live in scary times.
