The first time i heard the song: "it's ok... i guess..." The second time i heard the song: "wait... why? This doesnt make sense?!" The third time i heard the song: "i despise this song with every fiber of my being..." This song is the kind of song that should be used only once in a story, however it ended up overstaying its welcome due to its overuse.
Its presence in the 95(?) and 100 portions of the story were fine. I agree that the middle use was the most jarring given the circumstances. Really not so bad of a song overall.
