My family bought my character for me as a gift when I was like 11. I still have it. I didn't get any of the exclusive parts and it's probably the dumbest looking figure I own but it's also one of the most sentimental figures I own😅
Hero Factory was a true sandbox theme, with Lego encouraging children to make their own heroes and their own adventures, I appreciate it now seeing as Lego themes have become more linear lately
Local bulk lots are fun, couple years ago I spent $120 on a pretty big tote of bionicle, and when I got there they threw in a second tote for an additional $50, cause they didn’t want to go through the hassle of selling it. Within these two totes was one to two of just about every bionicle 2001-2006, some of 2007, every 2008 set including the ships +yellow, jetrax, and every glatorian+ legends+ titans from that year. Literal gold mine.
@@Rose-yx6jq that’s always the thing with Lego, there’s so many great ideas. But I don’t know, companies like them never put in the effort and just drop the ball. I wish it was just minifigures to be honest. They could have done a lot with that, like blind bags with random aliens.
I bought two heroes off the Recon Team Builder. Kinda makes me want to dig through my old parts and find those chest plates. Sell one, keep the other 🤷🏾♀️
I'm returning to this world for the first time since childhood, and I have to say, even being a normie less than five minutes ago, that is a breastplate to die for
Ugh, I’m still mad cuz I fucked up on my hero factory order, I thought it was included and so I went with a different chest piece 😢 didn’t have enough money to make/order a second one before that promo discontinued
I'd like a new version of the Hero Recon Team. While I wasn't a big fan of hero factory, I did like making my own sets. But ofcourse I never bought any.
On one hand, I think the fact that none of the characters were actual characters and the utter lack of a compelling story sucks. On the other hand, it means that basically any hero or villain you make is essentially canon.
for all the hate it gets, hero factory having little to no good story elements is fantastic for a toy. it makes any hero or villain a kid comes up with basically cannon
