Problem siemens inductionplate 

This problem was solved under warranty by Siemens even though the unit was officially out of warranty. The complete control-electronics unit was replaced. Nice work Siemens!

Most likely a fault in one or two capacitors on the main elin pcb (Left side). Replace C25 (680uF/10V) and C26 (330uF/10V) and the problem is gone.

Have the same problem! Cannot start a hob without powering on and off the whole unit. Luckily the switch is inside a convenient eye level cupboard . This hob worked beautifully for 5 years but like so many things - not built to last?
