That nasty clay looks like crap here in north Texas. It destroys poorly built slabs over time

Here in the UK the building inspectors make the builders dig down 2 metres (6' 6" in your language LOL) or more when the footings are in that sort of clay. I been on jobs where they gone down over 3 metres.

Poured my a shop floor the other day after watching your videos for quite sometime now. Followed all your advise and I’m pleased with how it came out. 26x46 shop with center floor drain. Mud showed up at 745 and I was completely done by 230 that afternoon.

I just got done digging footers for a 60 x 80 shop. I ran into concrete footers 4 times. This was a srewing mess. Straddling the ditch , digging under my machine. At least I got it done with no mishaps

Sorry to hear about your buddy. A group of us high school buddies get together and hunt every year. The dads and uncles have died off and now we're the old guys at camp. As we all get older, I see our decline and know that we'll start dropping off. Love 'em while you got 'em.
