Nov of ‘22 and the Bluetooth connection problem is still a huge factor. For months, they worked like a charm and stayed connected. Now, it’s a huge hassle and can sometimes take as much as 30 minutes to get a connection. The Bluetooth will show connected, but that box that drops down from the top along with the little bass tone that confirms connection doesn’t happen. This is a big hassle.
I just picked up mine today, got to the office disconnected randomly then after work was on a phone call kept dropping as I’m on the phone call. Is this just the thing?
I have a complete Apple device ecosystem with a imac, MBP, iPad Pro, Apple TV’s, iPhone and Apple Watch and hand off works perfectly. I don’t have any of the issues you are having with my AirPod Max’s and my AirPod Pro’s connections, they just work great. The only issues I have is my headphones kinda skip for an instant but I figure thats from me running beta software on literally all of my devices.
My AirPods Max work for a few hours then they say connected but don’t work anymore then I have to reset them, this happens like 3 times a day now even though I keep resetting them, any way to fix this ?
If I knew I’d have to do a HARD RESET every time I took them off for any reason, I wouldn’t buy them for $5. I paid $550 for this POS from a company that’s always seeking perfection. And Apple won’t even admit there’s a problem on an Mac Forums. I’ve been very happy Apple customer since iPhone came out in 2007. Now, I’ve lost so much respect. There is NO WAY THAT STEVE JOBS WOULD HAVE LET THIS 1/2 PRODUCT ON MARKET UNTIL THEY WERE AWESOME. Greatest part about them? The noise cancellation is better than any brand. But, what good is that feature if the rest is a POS? Don’t buy a pair until you know with 100% surety that you never have to reset them.
no disconnection for me but what i dislike at the $600 price tag -case -weight (whats the point of adding heavy materials when consumers don't like it?) -not enough head extension. some people have big heads sound quality is okay, not too concerned but coming from xm4, the comfort is 6/10. i cannot recommend. I would for $400 or $450 but $600? no thanks
Personally I like the premium feel of the heavy weight, but I haven't tried the XM4s yet. Seems like I am the only one with disconnect issues, I wouldn't be surprised if it is due to other nearby Bluetooth devices...
@@hivepark6844 sadly, this can only be done by Apple. If I were you I would return them for a nee set. I genuinely get 5 solid days of usage out of mine, using them at least 4 hours per day. I actually haven’t charged mine for nearly a week and they are at 30%
I bought a pair yesterday at Apple… today while at the gym I tried syncing over 5x, and no success! Frustrated, I think Ill be returning to apple day 2.
Here is what I think they did wrong as a person with no experience in electronics 1-smart case = dumb case ,this thing is causing massive problems with the battery , my theory is the issues might be caused by it thinking it’s still in the dumb case so it connects but is still in limbo mode so it doesn’t have sound also the case design is stupid and annoying to use. 2-possible really bad Bluetooth driver ,although i still don’t think that’s this issue since it connects it’s just the connection is corrupted by something else??? 3-no power button this shit could have solved so many fucking issues such as the dumb case issue with its stupid ass low power mode ,like cmon you already had buttons on it ,it’s not like you were going for a no buttons design. 4- the choice to make the connectors between the headband and the pads “lightning port like” connectors and having the pads (the whole Metal ear pad) be disconnectable with the sim tool was atrocious, absolutely disgusting choice … just why that thing is no doubt a source of the problems it has been building condensation and disrupting the connection , just why , what need is that for a consumer , just be normal and use a normal wired connection and make them permanent for fucks sake apple I’ve had gen 1 AirPods since they dropped in 2016 , im currently using them since the AirPods max don’t work/it takes 45 min to finally get a connection working
Mine literally don’t work. Put them to charge and when I went to put them on, they just wouldn’t connect and I literally deleted them from my iCloud and I can’t get them into pairing mode after resetting them
Same issue on solo pro, bga solder issue on main Ic, reflow repairs it and they connect instantly. Wonder if it’s the same for air pods max ? Certain parts getting too hot ehy apple ?
The pairing problem is happening to my AirPod pro too! I was having zoom class while I had my AirPod pro on.. then, while my student was doing their work, I took off the EarPods and put them back into the case. But later, my student has been talking to me but hear no response from me and I can’t hear them either. Only I found out the AirPods was still connected to my iPad even though I have placed them back into the casing. AirPod pro is starting to give me some problem as well. For instance, the left one always couldn’t be charged even when it’s inside the case overnight. I have to literally press the pod down into the case for the charging sign to be shown. Sigh... and it’s not even a year of usage yet. Ever since apple make automatic connection to iPhone, iPad and etc.. I find that the battery is draining extra faster than before. Sigh...
My APM are not even 5 days old and I’m having major connectivity issues. Suddenly head detection stops working, and when that happens, the crown and button stop functioning too. I can though control volume and noise cancellation via my iPhone or iPad. I have tried factory resetting which solves the issues, for it to start happening again. I checked with Apple Support and the recommendation was to get them repaired. Yeah, repaired after less than 5 days of use.
Are you sure u bought a genuine one . Otherwise u have received a faulty set. I have been using my AirPod Max since Late December and have not experienced any of the issues that you are having.
I regret to buy them should have gone for the bose, Sony, Sennheiser or Marshall really not worth for a + 500 headphone headset. I bought for a long term investment for workout sessions at after 8 months the issues beginns with the random disconnect. I also heard about the moisture issues oh dear. First and last apple 🎧.
You’ve obviously got a Dud set of AirPods Max - The only issue that is legit for the majority is the battery drainage issue - other than that get yourself a replacement set order from Apple too not some 3rd party seller
Nah, they work. It's just that most new Apple products these days do not come bug free. Users are now Beta Testers for the first year to fix issues. Not all products, M1 MacBook Pro feels like Apple products from years ago that 'just work' with no problems IMHO.
@SKINY BRYAN yeah apple had to replace it. In the store they wanted to replace just the one side that was messed up but they didn't have the parts. Sent in and I could tell they replaced both at the apple main service center wherever that is. No issues since. I was still under apple car which I was hesitant on getting when these things were over $500
Yes. Disabling the handoff on all devices (apart from iPhone) helped quiet a bit. Also found out my Beosound speaker would cut in while listening on the AirPods Max, so always disconnecting the Bluetooth helped a lot.
@@zenitsuagatsuma6510 solution is to buy a different headphone, but is hard to find one that feel as premium... back on track though, I've send it back for repair about 3 or more times.

My AirPods Max have COMPLETELY failed and no longer produce any audio. They are 1.5 years old. Out of the aptly called “limited” warranty. I have spent the better part of a day dealing with Apple senior Product managers via chat and phone calls. They will not repair or replace. They will “arrange,” for repair or replacement which is code for you will pay for it, as it’s out of warranty. They are deceitful in how they offer this. This product promoted as an expensive and premium audiophile investment is nothing but trash that will fail and I suspect for the very reason described in this video, internal moisture production and ingress. Apple will not stand behind this piece of expensive crap. They keep on going on about how you should buy extended warranty - it’s my fault for not doing so. You should be more aware when you buy. Well Apple, here’s my reply. I’m going to make sure everyone I know or any platform I can announce that the Maxs are crap. DO NOT BUY THEM. $500+ fail. RETURN THEM ASAP! If you can. Shame on you Apple!
I have resolved some of the issues by turning 'Handoff' to OFF on ALL my Apple products, except the iPhone. Also, disconnecting any other Bluetooth speaker has helped greatly. Still drains the battery like a sieve if not plugged in overnight, but that's just something I have gotten used to. They still sound and look amazing!
