Full size boats used to have holes across the risers of the stepped hull with ducted air vented in from the top off the boat molded within the fiberglass or whatever . It would make foam ( water / air ) under the steps at speed rather than the straight water dragging it down . Less water more fasterer! Always wanted to try that modification . Used to love this hobby can’t afford it any more and getting to physical for my old age anyway . Thanx for doing this stuff .

Yes I got the UL 19 and have a Geico 36 all stock so far but have motors and ESC’s ready to go in, just wanting to see what max speed I can get stock with battery and prop combos atm!! Ahhh so thats was the SSS!! Wow found its place there. So glad I can be a part of the speed record brother!! Have my little 16” build done now!! It goes so good!! Surprized me! I ran a couple packs in the v2 today just for fun. I'm contemplating 1 of 2 things. Throwing the tp 4060 in the v2 or the 160 firma & run her on 8s a few runs?? Still haven't made my mind up
Ah finally you’re using hockey tape! Was going to suggest that after looking at the duct tape you are using, been using hockey tape for the last 17yrs. just recently I started reusing the tape every time I remove my hatch used to throw away each time I open my hatch, then I ran out of tape at my local lake, so what I do now is to layout the strips of tape on the deck and hatch , so I now can reuse my tape all day when I run, 2 sonicwake v1 _v2 a shockwave 36 and a pulse 32 all modified with a TFL princess.
@@IRONCLADRC I just got a RU-vid recommendation to watch MrMad2424's latest video that he posted 3 days ago. He got his Veles 29 up to 91 mph. I guess his record was short lived. Respect to both of you guys cause I know speed doesn't come easily.

Love your Vida Big B. Very interesting and informative. Interested to know what material you use to blueprint your hulls. Been watching your channel for a few years now and recently got a Blackjack 42 that I am very interested in getting to 100+ mph.
I use epoxy with chopped up fine carbon fiber to thicken and powdered graphite. Long drawn out processes are blueprinting a hull. But well worth the work if you get it right

great run, I believe the velez will be my next fast boat after the tug but before winter I need them tires and snowblower, too old to be shoveling 10 inches of snow heck I I dont want to push more then a trace. lol hate moving to michigan from north carolina but dads here in his late 70s so I'm here for him any way peace

Mr mad had a much cleaner run with no flip, guessing my runs don't count because I flipped the boat at the end of the second pass. Oh well I'm still extremely stoked about my run. Epic in my book. 😆
@@IRONCLADRC thanks so much for the response. It sounded like a 2050 for 2200! Man that thing was ripping! Do you think the lighter CNC props allow the motor to spin faster than a copper beryllium or stainless steel prop? Less rotating mass….I have not tried a CNC prop yet. Just Octura, Prather, Proboat, and Grim Racer.

Big b one thing you don’t talk about with your blueprints.. do you ever set them on a flat surface and see if the boat has any rocking? That’s what I’m working on now
Oh yeah I constantly, set my boat on a flat top basically before each run,I've got a sheet of glass Out of my shop that's dedicated just for setting up my catamarans
bro had to watch again ,off subject lube, I was just getting ready lubing up an noticed I switched to lucas oil marine grease holds up better and cheaper then dynomite, I just pull the plastic top on the 14 oz tube dip my cable wipe a half inch off the collar end not that it matters but what impressed me was the longevity of it you got to try
Great run. I also like to tinker with my veles. Well I can't really call it a veles anymore. Only thing left from stock is the health. LOL. I have upgraded everything. It's pretty much an oxidean marine boat now. I just hit 99.9mph with it. But then I found out my gps only goes up to 99.9mph. Pretty sure I broke 3 digit mark. But no proof. Just ordered a new gps that goes to 560mph. I believe it is the same one you run
Nice number brother. I can't get mine back on the water I'm dieing to run her again! Water here is terrible right now tropical storms off the coast has these wind band whipping thru here, hopefully I'll get a break in the weather here shortly!
I have to wait a week before the new gps gets here. Right now she is setup with a oxidean 4082 2200kv 6 pole. With oxidean 180amp esc. 4519 oxidean prop. I will update my next speed run with the new GPS
92 and no duct tape!! 🤣😂 that thing is singin! I think with the ABC prop and some good water like that triple digits comin! Also wonder if tossin that big cap pack in it would make any difference
Wonder what my speeds will be with the Leo 4082, 2200kv 6S, 180A esc, 45mm 3 blade prop.. Never had something to measure with, but it is fast for sure, faster than the boat likes (it wants to torque roll allot on acceleration, so it needs work) But congratulation on 92 mph! I am not even close! (one of the error i had last run, was that my stinger had rised, so it pushed the nose up allot, will fix that for the next run and try again)
Prop choice has alot todo with high speed flipping, try running your strut higher than the ride surface literally 2 - 4mm higher with cog about 2 finger distance behind the forward step
Fast bro i ran the bj24 on 6s stock motor she was flying untill it flipped and hatch came off and it turned into bobber...was still running when i pulled it out 10 mind later full water

Never had a spartan, if I were upgrading that boat I'd go 4074 sss 1800 1900kv'ish flycolor or ose 150 should do the trick. Prop is start with an octura x445 oxidean 4519 4515 if temps are good prop up the diameter
Just got my veles still in box im hearing alot about roll over issues in turns i want to do fast laps help. My Prather Spitfire has huge turn fin turns like on rails.

Powered my Veles up and at 20 to 30 percent throttle the boat was screaming at me. Sounded like bad motor bearings. I had already greased shaft set clearance etc. I noticed motor had around 1mm or more commutator end play. I've never had an electric motor with end play like that. Is this end play normal for Dynamite 3831 my larger 3674. 1900kv dynamite motor has like zero end play. I installed it and still got same noise but not till higher rpm. I guess these hulls screetch on out of water testing. HELP PLEASE
@@robertprokop8101 it's the flex cable "vibrating/chattering" it's normal, once in the water with water in the driveline you won't hear it. Those 6 pole dynimite motors has some play back and forth that's also normal 👌
You only spent maybe a couple or 3 seconds at full throttle. With more room, or had you got to full throttle a little quicker I bet she had more in her.
Lots of replaying my runs in slow motion, watching what the boat does at different speeds. Amazing how much can be learned from a good slo-mo. Thanks for watching brother
