Hi , I just wanted to say that you will do fine with your surgery, I had the gastric sleeve in February of 2023 , my heaviest weight was 257, and the day of surgery I was 229 and today I'm 135 pounds , I'm 5"5 it was the best decision I've ever made and I'm not young I'm 58 , you got this❤
Yes all that I can tell you is to do what your surgeon tells you to do, and just trust the process, exercise whether it be the gym or at home with RU-vid videos that's what I did and weight will come off , if you have any bad food habits don't go back to them once the weight comes off , and I'm in the state of Michigan and thank you I'm proud of myself I did it at age 57
I had Bariatric surgery 5/11/2023! It was the best thing I could have ever done for my life! 207 before surgery; 194 day of surgery; today 126! My a1C is 5.8 and I have been on diabetes or blood pressure medications since 5/4/2023!

Donice, girl, you are one brave woman! If people say this is the easy way of losing weight, they have no idea. The prep to get to it, the healing time after and all of the things that can go wrong (potentially) but we are NOT thinking negative. All will be well!! I pray that God will put his hands on you during the process and healing. I also pray that God will guide the surgeon and all in the operating room. This video has inspired me to keep going in my weight loss journey. God has been speaking to me about self-care and my five children. They are young and need me around for a long time. I believe God can reverse this diabetes and give me a fuller life that i can enjoy with my family and I am the source care giver to everyone and I need the time for myself to go through my transformation of healing. My parents passed away 5 years apart, my dad in 2015 and my mom 2020, the same day 5 years apart and it took something away from me and I had my amputation in 2020 of my right leg below the knee. So yes, God is with me and watching you and your daughter gives me much hope and know that you are believers makes it even better, With Christ I can do all things. Amen
Donice, I know you already know this, but you have an AMAZING mom. I love you all's family relationship. I think your friends are good to doing a modified diet. When y'all get a chance, share that diet please. Some people like to say surgery is the easy way out. There is NOTHING easy about this process. I am so proud of you. I need to lose weight but I know I couldn't do surgery, so it takes a strong person and that is you!! As far as the acid reflux, I have that too and I had the endoscopy done and that 5 minutes sleep was the best sleep EVER!! As I said in the last video, you AND God got this!
I started the Bariatric Surgery journey on August 16, 2022. The clearance to have surgery took 10 months. My actual surgery happened on July 10, 2023. I lost 67 lbs before surgery, and additional 97 lbs since the surgery. This was the best decision I have ever made. I still attend nutritionist meetings. You got this!!!
I couldn't even finish the video because I had to stop and tell you how much I love you Donice. You remind me so much of me when was younger. I had the same type of personality. I was also very overweight. At my highest, I weighed 325 lbs. To lose the weight I went sugar-free no-carb It took me one year to lose 150lbs with this method. There was only one thing I regretted about losing the weight. I thought I was going to look like the people you see in commercials with a brand-new body shape. Flat stomach tiny waist and so forth. Well, I reduced in size. But kept the same body shape. I still have a stomach and big upper arms and thighs. During the process of losing the weight. I had a stroke. And now I'm confined to a wheelchair. But!!! I lost the weight. Good luck on this journey. I hope it is all you want it to be. Love you guys. Back to the video.
Hey Ms. Donna & beautiful Donice 💗 My daughter had the gastric bypass surgery 6months ago. As her mother; I prayed for years for her to lose weight🥲 I constantly worried about her. After having two girls, she began to think more about her health. I can tell you that I was scared about the surgery but I trusted she did her research (and I did my own) She has amazingly lost almost to her goal weight! She exercises, takes Pilates classes.. etc.. There’s nothing easy about it!! Beautiful before ( never had a lack of confidence 🤣) But now… she’s always had a flair for fashion.. She looks fabulous!! Her motivation was the same, she wanted to keep up with the girls and be around for a mighty long time!! Being mom, it’s taken a huge amount of stress off me!!! I’ve gained some extra weight so she’s a huge inspiration!! Just remember it’s a process, you got this and you’ll never regret it!! Thank you for sharing and we love y’all 🌸💐 Blessings to all🙏🏼

This is so awesome, I want to encourage you to keep on pushing and remember your why’s❤ I was overweight when my son was young and I passed my bad habits on to him. I put him in a boot camp and learned to cook healthier beginning with learning to cook a variety of veggies. Being overweight has a tremendous effect on kids who eat the way we do good or bad, and can cause early disease for them. He is slim now since his late teens and very healthy. He’s still my why and my coach❤
I am so happy for you❤. I have acid reflux problems as well. I went through 12 months of appointments and losing weight so I can have the surgery. I had to do 12 months with a dietician. All the appointments you named. I was supposed to have the sleeve done and 4 days before my surgery they told me they couldn't do it because my insurance classified me as a retiree. My body hurts so bad it's really hard to enjoy life because I can't get help anywhere. What a blessing. I am truly happy for you❤

You should be proud of yourself! God is with you and your decision is for YOU!!! I had bariatric surgery in 2007, and I stopped having to take insulin, my diabetes was under control and I look at the 85 pound weight loss as a bonus. It saved my life. Congratulations on your decision.
I had it 20 years ago! Best decision ever.Back then.few people were accepted and we had to go through almost a full year pre-programs and testing! Its not simple because one of my best friends died from it! I am now 1/2 the size I use to be. I too was open about it...but prepare because not all friends will support you and the weight is easy to lose at first but will eventually slide back....so you will have to change bad habits!
Sis Donna I shared my story of my husband passing last July with an esophagus gastric issue. His food wouldn’t travel down the way it should have. So I no what she was going through. You are gorgeous and funny! I am glad that you are showing all the steps involved when going in for weight loss surgery. My bariatric doctor told me "this surgery is not the miracle" and he was right, but it did help me to get my life back. Day of surgery I was 240 and now, ten years later, I was 154 when I weighed this morning. You can do it, just stay vigilant. Those old habits come roaring back if you're not careful.
My sister and 4 co-workers had weight loss surgery and didn't share how much they lost until they had lost a significant amount of weight. People tell what they weighed before surgery when they are ready. Some do it before some after. WTG on your journey, God bless!❤

Hello y'all don't worry I'm sure you will be fine. I know we are late with our comments , because we are new to the family. Myself and husband said you are going to do well. We pray you and your family all heal well and God stay with y'all. This surgery isn't a minor one. It is definitely major. We know folks that got it done and it was a success. We can't wait to see your view with the final rules. They say always give yourself six months to a year for your weight to lock itself in. But if you got the sleeve you lose weight faster. The one with the half of your stomach taken off , it usually takes a little longer to lose the weight. But it doesn't matter your still beautiful anyway. As I stated in your first video, I had gastric bypass 2006. I was 316 lbs on surgery day. I lost 136 pounds, gained about 23 pounds, but I still love the new me. Prior to surgery, I hate looking in the mirror, was very insecure and low self esteem, but all that is gone!! Thank you Jesus! Enjoy the ride!!!

I don't usually comment, but I wanted to share with your daughter. I had a gastric bypass in 2007. Gastric sleeve surgery had not been approved back then. I lost well over 100 lbs, but gained a few back during C-19. I would rather send an email than to discuss things that I have learned in all these years. I think that she's making the right decision because loosing weight is not easy. I was 326 before surgery, went down to 180, but gained about 20 lbs back during C-19. I pray that all goes well and feel that she is making the right decision having surgery.😊
