Centrifugal force is a social construct. with a centrifugal pump, we need to look at fluid mechanics. The big idea there is that momentum is conserved. The fluid is propelled in a straight line until it hits a wall and is pushed back with a Centripetal force. It only appears that the fluid is being pushed outward.
