Officer Matthew Bowen was identified as the officer killed in the line of duty in Vacaville Thursday morning.
Bowen joined Vacaville Police Department on June 13, 2023.

When is this willful carnage of LEOs stop. my goodness if this happened in Australia at the same rate we’d be looking down the barrel as far as numbers of policemen go. I am saddened by this young man’s loss of life. To his wife and children may he Rest in Peace in the Lords arms. Sincere condolences to his wife and children. With all due respect...HOLY $H|Г.... I never have seen anything like this in my life. That was absolutely beautiful. But it also brought tears to my eyes, because this officer lost his life, and you know everyone is hurting....theres nothing you can say to take away the pain... These are not all Vacaville Officers, a lot of First Responders came to Vacaville for this procession. 💙🖤💙There will be even more at his funeral. (The town of Vacaville has less than 100 officers).
