Proud of you! I've played over 50 years. Practice everyday. Even if its just two songs on the worst of days. Minimum 25-35 minutes everyday! You'll be wonderful before you know it :) !
I am a huge fan of Gabriella. She is simply amazing. She makes this look so easy. I play guitar, trust me what she is doing is very hard but she makes it look so easy. She is truly talented. She brings out so much emotion when she plays. She demonstrates true artistry and musicianship. This inspires me to work harder to become a better musician. Bravo! Bravo!
+ruetteltuennes You can tell she is concentrating like mad to get it right, that alone shows quite a lot of emotion their as it shows she really cares about what she is doing, I think she's shows the perfect amount of emotion for what she is doing, she's neither forced nor uncaring, It would be weird for her to act like Steve Vai or start throwing her guitar up in the air.
+Stan Lyman I used to help young artist and bands make their demo tapes, and promo kits.I was always playing with tape recorders as a kid,was in a few half ass bands,i fell into recording.I wish a talent like this would have come along
If I want to get a tear in my eye, I listen and watch this video. I was 14 when Procol Harum released this beautiful song (1967), and now, to listen to this 15 years old girl playing it so beautifully... it helps me to feel a little hope for this world anyway...
Gabriella, You have a magical talent and I'm guessing you may not realise what comfort you give to many many people, who find themselves in a lonely place, but by listening to your truly emotional compositions you give us peace. Please continue your gift as you are a angel sent from the gods.
I had a brother in law that died from cancer. I did not go to his funeral cause I didnt want to remember him the way he became, but this was his favorite song, and it brings back good memories. thank you for allowing me to share.
Good answer, but I'm gonna have to agree with both of you. ^_^ I play guitar and certainly I enjoy her talent in so many levels. Those harmonics are just awesome. Brilliant indeed. :-)
Yes, Rolando, you're right and I also understand where Milton is coming from. I never meant that only a guitarist could appreciate her talent but being a guitar player would give you clinical insight into her technical prowess. Naturally any music lover can tell that Gabriella is special. :)
Wow! This is one of the most beautiful things she has done. She makes a 6 string sound like a 12. Wonderful style and depth - beautiful technique producing an incredibly lyrical sound. She takes you all over the place and makes your soul dance. Her style and interpretation have so matured over the years. Absolutely wonderful - thank you.
A beautiful woman, a timeless piece of music, unfathomable skills, a sweet guitar, a soulful artist....I can see the look in your eyes that this song touched you in some special way. Thank you Gabriella, for being you and sharing your gift with us.
Al Wahat I think it's a bit easier to pursue a career in entertainment in today's world becuz of the abundance of media outlets that are available. In our day, there was really a limited amount of exposure available compared to current times. And, I don't think a lot of musicians, actors have as much talent as did artists 30-40 yrs ago... imo.
Frank Pitochelli NEVER GIVE UP!! It's called playing music, so play! I'm 63 and still play everyday (lovin Mississippi John Hurt, Richard Ruskin). RU-vid is a god send for us old guys. You take get instruction from hundreds of amazing teachers, for FREE, on your schedule. So get the guitar out of the case, place it on a stand and reach out for it every time you wish you'd stayed with it...
douglas weiss Yes, Yes, true that....we "older " guy's have to stay strong and keep rockin... I stay up on all genre's of music from the 60's to current... If I had that second chance, I'd have definately pursued music AND acting as a career... Just love the arts !!!
This is my favourite song of all time. It won a Queen's award in 1977. You played it magnificently. Well done. This is the 1st time I have ever heard you play, and it won't be my last.
Got linked to Hotel Cali; then, I went to While . . . Gently Weeps. Classical Gas. Now, this. . . I've never seen/heard a guitar player so clean, clear and effortless. Guitarist as artist, clearly. I will always remember you, young woman, with love.
Such a beautiful song! I first heard this song when i was 7yrs old, now being 40yrs old, this song is still very much loved. Gabriella- you have done an excellent job!!
So beautiful, so calm, so touching - what a great arrangement, and how wonderfully well performed! It shows what a great guitarist you really are Gabriella!
Gabriella, I can't imagine that you did this cover over five years ago. Darling, I've been following you for at least three years and it still brings tears to my eyes when I hear the beauty in the way you deliver each and every note. Your BEAUTIFUL SMILE TAKES MY BREATH AWAY! !! WITH ALL MY LOVE, GILBERTO FROM New Orleans, Louisiana! !!
In the mid. 60's, an FM underground radio station in St. Paul MN. used to close at 1AM and they closed each night with this song. At the end on the song it was white noise.
I saw Procol Harum live at The Fillmore in NYC c. 1969. Gary Brooker’s distinctive tenor voice and brilliant lyrics still echo through my brain to the rich sound of Matthew Fischer’s Hammond organ. I performed Whiter Shade many times as a pro musician. As a pro music teacher, in recent years, I was horrified, shocked and dismayed to find out that the vast majority of persons today, including young musicians, have never even heard of Procol Harum or Whiter Shade of Pale. What a shame! As for this young lady, she shows promise, although her arranging skills fall behind her technique. Keep at it kid, and someday you will get there. 55 years ago, I was in your shoes.
Like so many have said before, what you do is so difficult, playing rhythm, melody, and lead at the same time, and then giving us that gorgeous smile is simply breathtaking. You are a singular talent with the world open to your smoldering sweetness and immeasurable musical genius.
I loved this song from the day it came out and, I never knew it to be this beautiful when played instrumentally as she does it... Just a masterpiece all by itself... Bravo... Bravo...
One of these days you are going to get good at that.....JUST KIDDING! It has been said, some people are born with a GIFT......If that’s true, YOU ARE DEFINITELY ONE OF THEM! RESPECT AND HONOR TO YOU YOUNG! MAY GOD BLESS YOU! From a Top-Grandfatherly-Fan in Tennessee. 🙏🏼🎶🎸🎵🇺🇸
Permit me to say: you are the finest guitar player I've ever seen or heard in my lifetime, 68 this November, USA. Moreover you present yourself as a modest beautiful young woman. Easy on my eyes and beautiful to my ears. Have listened to and viewed your catalog all day. Hand Salute :)
Hai rischiato tanto a proporre questa pietra miliare del progressive rock in versione acustica, con tanta anima dentro..bella esecuzione e interpretazione!!!!
I love listening to all her songs in the background. It is truly spiritual uplifting and makes me think better of the world. Not many performers can earn that type of praise. Please continue with your beautiful style of playing the guitar. I would buy your songs in a second if i knew how.
People say they love her smile. She looks up at the camera shortly after the start, boy that the look I love from musos, particularly beautiful one. She deserves all the praise she gets. But She loves this song! No question in my mind.I have listened to a lot of her stuff but she nailed this!. I know it is old but it is still fabulous! 50 years by my calculations! I have never seen her so tuned in, she’s just so smooth!
You are one of the most talented and gifted finger pickers. I am sure it was earned with thousands of hours of practice and instruction. Having a father who is a professional musician and guitar player must have been a great help and motivator, keep up the great work
Even I can move my across a fret board, but your playing, it's so obvious and refreshing to hear that each note that's plucked and played comes from the "heart". So lovely to hear that feeling, understanding, subtleties, and passion come from your heart to your fingers in your performances.
