Wow-interesting to hear Grabham's take on the iconic Trower solo. Thanks-I always wondered if the Redhill version Or Statford versions exist.

You're welcome. This is actually Dave Ball, though, not Grabham. I have a 1972 performance with him and it's quite notable, from memory, I especially liked how he played the riff in the middle, alternating between the normal one and playing it in reverse (!!). Regarding your questions, I have two different recordings of Redhill, one also with full video, but I can't publish anything from there. If you're referring to the 1969 Stratford concert with orchestra, a recording was attempted but it was eventually not possible because of technical issues.

How the heck do you find all these recordings?? I must just be a horrible collector... Procol's probably my favourite band and I can't find most of this anywhere but here. (Though I am only 21, so maybe you've just had more time?)

A lot of google-fu and a lot of talking with other collectors, mostly

Wonderful collection, Jack. I'm telegraphing my age here, but I heard them do almost the identical set (with Dave Ball on guitar) as this Chicago show at the Central Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey in '71. Copping comes in on bass pedals right after the guitar solo in "Grand Finale" (you can clearly hear a low "C", below the range of a bass guitar). Magnificent - you don't have any clips/recordings from that show do you (I'd completely forgotten about the "work-in-progress" version of "Robert's Box" from that show until I heard it again here - I believe the final guitar solo and chord changes were Mick Grabham's contribution during the recording of the "Grand Hotel" album)? BTW, are there any versions of Mick Grabham playing "In Held Twas In I" live with Procol? I'm not aware of any.

You mean they had a B3/C3 on stage with the pedalboard? Wow! I have a few other concerts from the Ball era but this is the best sounding one. I don't think I have the one in Chicago you mention. In Held performances with Grabham are rare but do exist. Apart from the obvious one (Redhill 1997) I have one from Vienna 1972 (with orchestra and chorus!) that's very notable because he plays some of the guitar runs that begin the Look to your Soul section backwards, to a quite jarring effect.
