Prodigal Son: Why Not a Man of Letters? 

The day after this play finished Timmy got on the plane to Italy to shoot "Call me by your name". The rest is history.

Wait that’s the guy from Dead Poet’s Society. And Timothée, oml he’s going places. I hope he wins the Oscar.

I knew he would become a great actor. He's good, really good.

He is such a great actor that everytime I watch him playing a character he makes me believe that he is actually like that . The way he expresses his character on screen is just so beautiful and when his character is upset or is in pain I could also feel the pain .He is really a great actor.

I hate when people laugh during such important lines and scenes. He’s SERIOUS.

I'm glad Neil was so inspired by Mr Keats that he came back from the dead to help other kids realize their dreams.

He is an amazing actor! I mean look at his expressions. No wonder Armie keeps saying that Timmy wears his emotions in his sleeves.

Everyone here’s praising Timothee for his performance but I really feel Robert Sean Leonard deserves a shout-out for the wonderful warmth and natural conviction he brings to the role!

Man...I am so obsessed with Timmy...Such a good actor, seriously.

I know we say this after the fact, but I recall years ago when I was a kid, watching Tom Hanks on Bosom Buddies, that 80s sitcom, thinking that Tom Hanks seemed better than any of the other cast. It wasn’t a kid thing to think about, but I do remember thinking that he seemed like he belonged in films, not television. I feel like I spotted the talent...and while we now know that Chalamet is a worthy actor, I think you can tell in this early performance, he has that facial emotional thing that good acting delivers. He doesn’t sound unnatural and self conscious like some amateur actors sound. You know what I’m talking about. His whole face and body acts the part. The lines really flow from inside...not just a script. When you see him in roles, the acting talent really shows. I think many people who criticize him only do so because at his age, certain roles are just not available to him yet...so of course the critics will argue that he plays the same role over and over...well, yeah...he’s playing a young man, a high school or college student. That’s his age. He’s not been given many roles outside of that range yet. But he plays them WELL. I believe his characters. He comes across as authentic. Like he truly cares about the craft of acting. I really appreciate that in actors. Willed Defoe, Al Pacino, Robert Redford, Meryl, Jack, Annette Benning, Timothy Hutton, De Nero, Judy Dench...these are actors who truly care about the art of characterization. I hope Chalamet continues to grow as an actor. He’s not at legendary status yet, not even close...but he is good.

This takes me back to Dead Poet's Society! So glad Robert Sean Leonard got this role.

I would pay very good money to see timothee in this live, tho it's unlikely that he would recreate something he's already in, or for it to be taken to stage again, but still he's so good in this, his acting skill is just the kind I like with emotional control as well as vulnerability, and you don't get confused abt what he's trying to convey, his delivery has clarity, and it fills me with awe really. It's a treat to watch him act.

Ironic. It's Neil from DPS (Dead Poets Society) ...it's some strange AU where he is a teacher know, and he's forgotten who he was as a teen and what he has learned from Mr.Keating. Now, as an older man, he has to re-learn it. Through helping this kid out, he finds out more about himself.

Robert Sean Leonard is such a great actor. I remember him when he was Timothee's age. And now the next generation is stepping up. This was excellent casting. Leonard is one of the best to do it. And Chalamet is becoming that too as we speak.
